april, and a flower

two star-crossed lovers,
bonded by an indescribable force
that joined the two souls in union.

however,
one left so suddenly
with a rushed "i'm sorry"
and left behind
everything that felt like a goodbye.

and so when the next spring rolled around,
when the first flower bloomed,
the lover that was left behind
remembered the traces left
and can only reminisce
the lost time,
the lost memories,
the lost love,
they once shared once upon a time.
