Lost

The doctor held his hand onto the masks shoulder.

"..If something is wrong.., you can tell me."

The mask turned back to the doctor.

"No.. everything is fine.., doc." The mask answered. Of course this was a lie. The mask was confused of everything. He didn't knew what he was doing here. Of course he always wanted to escape..
But this feeling was different for him..
Open doors..
Everywhere.. in his mind..
But there was one single door..
That was closed..

The doctor knew the mask was lying.
But since the mask lied, the doctor obviously knew he had a reason.
So he stayed quiet.

"Well.., if you say so..", he mumbled.
"We contained him.., but.. I'm not sure if he is able to break out again.., so we better keep moving."

"Good idea.., but where are we gonna go? There are guards everywhere." The mask asked.

"Well. I think we need to head to the '40t floor'." The doctor kind of gave the mask no other choice.

Both wandered to the closest elevator.
As they both already stood in the elevator, the doctor kind of felt nervous.

The mask could see it.

"Doc? Are you alright?", he asked curious.

The doctor glanced at him with his icy blue eyes.

The mask always had the feeling like he was melting from inside, when he saw the doctors eyes..

"Of course..", the doctor mumbled.

As the door opened, both stared into the darkness.

"The '40t' floor.., huh..", the mask mumbled.

He stepped into the pitch black room.

"Doctor? Where are we supposed to go?", the mask turned back to the elevator.

The doctor stepped out.

"Follow me, dar- into the darkness...!" The doctor blushed.

The mask again turned red.
He chuckled a little.

The doctor began to lead the direction.
The mask of course followed him.

Some time later they ended up in tunnels.

"Now.., you need to listen carefully. We will go into different directions. There are storage rooms near here. But I don't remember where. We don't have many time left. So we will split up in different directions.., be here in about 20 minutes." The doctor explained.

The mask nodded.
"Got it.."

The mask followed different tunnels.

About 10 minutes later, he completely forgot the time and began to panic.

He of course had no clock.

He began to go back..
Til he realized..
He didn't knew the way back.
He was stuck.
There were many crossed tunnels and different doors.

He felt like he was stuck in mud..

He started to walk around fast.

He also shouted.
"Doctor?!"

But no answer..

He began to feel like a child , that lost its mother.
He searched around for the doctor.

But he couldn't find the way back..

He was lost..

The doctor searched around quietly.
He also managed to find a place to rest.

He realized that 20 minutes already past by.
So he began to follow the directions back to the tunnels they saw each other the last time.

Now he stood there.
Alone.

He waited awhile.
Til he began to think, that the mask was in trouble.

He rushed through the tunnels.

But he couldn't find him.

"Maybe.. he was contained..", the doctor mumbled.
But suddenly..
