I couldn't sleep all night, I kept tossing and turning. I could not get my mind to stop racing. My mind was full of questions with no answers. Like why did Aggie not want the alpha to tell me about Renadeath? or what the woods is? My main question tho is who was the guy in the wight cloak?.
Just as I had started to organise my thoughts there was a knock on the door. "come in." I half expected it to be Aggie or Leo but to my surprise, it was little Simon he looked worried. "Simon what's wrong," I asked in a calm voice as to not make whatever's troubling him worse. He told me in a quiet voice, "Luna what's wrong with Aggie, she was crying in her room." I didn't have the heart to tell him that I didn't know why exactly, so I just told him that I'm sure that's she is fine she probably was reading a sad book or something. He looked confused but took my word for it.
"Luna what's the Moving Woods" I almost had a small mental breakdown when he asked me this, however his small little eyes were almost to tears by this point so I explained it enough so he would get a vague idea of what it is without the gore facts. "it's a big forest that tricks people into it so they get lost nothing more nothing less."
I was hoping he wouldn't ask more. which he surprisingly didn't. Instead, he replied with "how to mean that woods should be told off and have no pudding." This made me smile as life had been so stressful lately and it was nice to get a break from reality every so often.
I ruffled his short brown hair and he jumped in for a hug we both could not stop laughing. "I love you, Luna, I hope you can stay forever and be my best friend" I smiled softly and said "you promise I'm your best friend" to which he replied with "pinky promise."
As Simon and I were playing we both hear a sudden loud noise. Dung, Dung Dung. It sounded like a huge church bell. Both Simon and I went outside to investigate, along with Aggie and Leo. We all gathered around the village centre. It was a huge tree covered in blossoms.
The alpha then stepped out of a group of elderly in front of everyone. His expression was the same as ever blank Per-usual however there was a strong feeling of uneasiness in the crowd.
The people we dreading what he was going to say. "My people it is coming tonight, I know your pain and you fear, it's not unjust. However, we shall stand together like the loyal wolf we shall have the courage of the mighty lion and we shall have the strength of the fearsome bear. For we are shapeshifters we can make it through this pain together" the crowd start Cheering for their alpha. he then said "we cannot be defeated by this creature. Tho one may be lost the army shall take its place as we are one of the thousand. The crowd was clapping and chanting, "Alpha".
Just before we all decided to leave I made eye contact with the alpha and for the split second, I swear I saw a look of worry.
When we all got back to Aggies it was almost sunset. Aggie started quickly boarding up the windows and doors and putting locks on the front door. "Simon can you stay with Luna tonight please. also Luna pleases promise me you will keep him safe." Aggie said in a fast and panicked voice "I promise." I replied. "Leo your with me," she said, then gently dragged him to her room. "Well, I guess you are with me than Simon," I said with a smile.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't terrified out of my skin but I had to put on a brave face for Simon.
Night then rolled around. Simon and I had fallen asleep. When I closed my eyes I was in beautiful woods covered in all different flowers, there was a little stream with butterflies flying around. I then saw a little stag drinking from the water I got closer but stopped. I felt a tug on the back of my leg.
I turned around to see a little boy who looked to be around Simons age. However, he was blue and you could see through him. "Don't follow the stag it's not real." He whispered I asked him who he was but he did not answer. I then looked back at the stag and I was now in dark woods with fog and dead leaves I then saw the stag.
The stag was huge and was covered in dead flowers and rotting bark. It walked a bit closer and in a deep demonic voice it Said: "you have chosen to stay?" I nod my head. "Then I'll take the younger child instead of you." It then fades away into the fog. My eyes were rapidly open. I quickly sit up and look around in search of Simon but he was nowhere to be found. I then realised what I had done so I rush out of bed and broke out of the window in my room, which was for some reason not boarded off anymore.
I then ran to the edge of town and I saw it. I was standing in front of the Moving woods. It was foggy and so dark It was hard to move, it was cold however I made a promise to keep Simon safe and that's what I'm going to do...
