My breath was visible in the darkness around me, my flashlight shining a thin stream of light in front of me. I took a shaky breath in, avoiding running into a tree that was in my path. I was just wanting to get out of the rain and wind, and get to Voyager Hotel. I knew my friends warned me of what happened before it had to close, but I knew it couldn't be that bad. It only was a building...right? I shook my head, clearing my thoughts and trying to focus on what I could see of my surroundings. Dead, brown leaves occasionally crunched under my feet, my thin, shoulder length honey blonde hair blowing in the wind and in my face. I brushed back a lock of my hair behind my ear, only for the wind to blow it out of place a few moments later. I sighed with frustration, not seeing a tree root in front of me. I let out a startled scream as my foot got caught on it, causing me to trip and tumble onto the ground, managing to tear a hold in my jeans. I winced as I scrambled up, my left ankle throbbing in pain.I sharply inhaled when I put pressure on it, but decided to continue to hotel anyway. When I grabbed my flashlight (which flew out of my hands when I fell) and shone it ahead only to see that I was in front of the Voyager Hotel. "That wasn't there before..." I muttered as I made my way to the door, finding that it was unlocked for a reason unknown to me. As soon as the door shut behind me, a long, loud screech rang along the empty rooms and halls. I threw myself across part of the room as a knife dug into the door where I had just been standing. I heard a giggle come from me as I felt hands wrap themselves around my throat that I wasn't able to see. I clawed at where the hands were, desperate for air. I glanced in the direction of where the hands would have come from to see one of my friends, looked back again to see if I was seeing things only to see one of my other friends.
"We warned you, we warned you, we warned you," they hissed out. I felt a screech build up in my throat, unable to escape. "We warned you," they hissed out again.
