“GO!” I screamed
“I can’t fly any faster Emilia without hurting myself”
“Then land in the woods. I need to plan this out” I said
She planted her feet in the ground and lied down so I could get down.
“So what is your plan?” she asked
“I don’t know. I have never been threatened like this before”
“Well we have to fight. It’s our duty”
“I know because I’m a Dragon Rider” I said
I sat down on the ground and pulled my sword into my lap.
“We need to get all the supernatural creatures to work together” I whispered
“How do we do that?”
“We tell them the threat that is against us” I answered
“Are you hungry? You didn’t eat dinner”
“Yeah a little”
“I will hunt us a deer” she said
She took off running through the trees leaving me alone in a clearing.
“Emilia!” Alva called
“Yes what is wrong now?”
“Your Uncle and many other people are out looking for you” she answered
“When did they start looking?”
“A little while after you left” she said
Zara walked back slowly and dropped the dear.
“Zara, Uncle is looking for us” I said
“That’s okay I don’t think he will get very far with the war going on”
I cut into the deer with a knife and then strung the meat above some sticks. Zara lit the sticks on fire and the meat started to cook.
“How mad do you think he is?” Zara asked
“Very mad. I have never ran away before”
Once the meat was cooked, I started to pick it apart with my fingers.
“Emilia, my family wants to help you” Alva said
“How?”
“We are going to dress you more like the woods” she said
She sat in front of me as many more elves walked out from behind trees. Each one had their own job as the dressed me different. An older elf stood in front of me and looked at me ears. She slowly touched my ears with her pointer finger while she was whispering a chant.
“Done” Alva said
I felt my ears and stood up.
“I have elf ears?”
“Yes”
“You cannot fly with Zara for a little while. They will shoot you down from the sky” Alva said
“What will I ride?”
“A horse” the older one said
“Alright”
Once I finished eating, one handed me reins to a horse. Zara quickly climbed into my pocket before I climbed onto the horses back.
“Her name is Slivermare. She is a very nice horse”
“Good luck your majesty” Alva said
I kicked Slivermare’s side to get her to move.
“Emilia!” Uncle yelled
“Faster Slivermare”
She started to run faster until we were farther in the woods.
“Where to first?” Zara asked
“I don’t know”
“Well there’s Blanchland Abbey, Stonegate, The Cheviot Hills, Billige, and many more” she said
“We’ll go to Blanchland Abbey since it is closest to where we are now”
She crawled out of my pocket and flew next to me.
“I love flying” she said
“Well you are a dragon. You are supposed to fly”
I held onto the reins tighter as we went through the woods.
“Emilia on your right!” Zara yelled
I drew my sword and turned to face my right.
“Zara watch out!”
The man swung his sword and cut Zara. I jumped off Slivermare and tackled the man.
“Stay away from my dragon!”
I stabbed my sword through him then got up.
“Are you okay?” I asked
“My wing”
I ripped a piece of my dress and wrapped it around her wing.
“You’ll be okay”
I placed her back into my pocket and climbed back onto Slivermare.
I slowly rode into town trying to not draw attention to myself.
“Welcome to Blanchland Abbey” a woman said
“Thank you ma’am”
I turned a corner to be stopped by Jackson and the rest of the guards.
“Hello young Queen”
“May I help you?” I asked
“We were sent to come find you and bring you home”
“I am not going home and you cannot make me”
“I understand that but we have an order from your Uncle” Jackson said
“But you work for me”
“Yes I know. So we have a compromise for you”
“What would that be?” I asked
“Let us come with you as your Army and we won’t tell Nicholas where you are”
“Do it Emilia. We need all the help we can get” Zara said
“You are willing to fight for the supernatural?”
“Yes we are”
“Alright you have a deal” I said
Slivermare started to walk again with my Army following behind us.
“Your majesty, what are they fighting about?” Jackson asked
“There has been a feud between humans and supernatural since the beginning of time. Humans used them as slaves, until they rebelled almost 300 years ago. The Dragon Rider is the peace maker. I have been waiting for a war to break out for a long time now”
“How many super natural creatures were made into slaves?” he asked
“Most of them that I have heard of”
Zara climbed onto my shoulder and sat there.
“There is a man named Josiah who is leading the humans. He has already tried to kill Zara and I” I said
“So if we find him, we can end the war?”
“I wish it was that simple” I said
“We should keep moving, to try to find a place to stay. It gets colder at night” Mark said
“Where will we stay?”
“It would depend”
