A dream.
They tell me. Anything is possible.
Just dream on.
We're all on the same boat.
They said.
All of us face problems and we're all the same.
But, my boat was leaking.
And there's nothing that could fix it.
It's just a matter of time before I'll sink into my depths of my own sadness.
A failure to find happiness.
Drowning.
With no one to save me.
Solitude was by my side.
~~~
"Ha!" I whispered quietly while I threw my tiny fists into the air, absolutely inundated with robustness. Following with a high kick as my diamond heels pointed to the sky.
I wasn't supposed to be here. I wasn't even supposed to do this.
I snatched a twig swiftly from the soil naming it as my sword. I swung it around in a skilled motion with my eyes incredibly focused.
"What's next?" I panted while cautiously peering from behind the large oak tree glancing at the field where the guards were.
Careful... you don't want to be seen by others. If someone finds you here, you'll be dead.
From a distance, I watched the guards march and raise their arms and the majestic sound of swords colliding with the air resounded.
"Our glorious nation! Glorious! We serve our nation, Realms of Light!" They shouted.
I followed along, intoxicated with the burning flame of passion inside of me. As a faint smile plastered across my face.
~~~
You must be wondering, who am I? Well, I'm Princess Avery. Everyone would have expected for a princess to be all pretty, petty and petulant. And how they should wear sparkling gowns and uphold a modest attitude.
Stereotypes. But that's just not my thing.
I wanted to be a guard. I loved the idea of being one.
Heck, that idea is forbidden.
Hitherto, I've always lived in a dream, with the fantasy of being a guard, though I was living in a life of a princess.
Dreaming on, and believing everything I dreamt of will become reality.
I would tell myself, though half of me knew it was fairly impossible for me to reach my dream.
Here's what I do- Everyday, at 7am I'll run behind the largest oak tree and watch the Guards practice their skills while I remain as their unknown apprentice.
~~~
"Avery?"
And there he stood, towering about me, Guard Baldie. He glanced down at me, with narrowed eyes.
"You know you shouldn't be here."
Both of us had a heavy fear in our eyes, for separate reasons.
Guard Baldie, being afraid that King Arnold, my Daddy, would be fuming in utter rage once he realizes that he wasn't doing his job at keeping me safe and was oblivious that I was doing Guard practices.
For me, I was afraid Daddy would give me a scolding.
Clearly, my side of my story was less terrifying.
But we both knew, Daddy would never get mad at me, his little princess, and it'll all diverted down to him.
"I'm so sorry!"  I stuttered. I was expecting some sort of scolding or reprimanding.
"Why Avery?" He gently said, glancing at me, "Why to be a guard? Aren't you happy with who you are, a princess?"
Happy?
Why would I be happy?
