This is a moment to be remembered for the whole entirety of the future for mankind. A moment so meaningful, so utterly perfect that nothing could be better. A moment of pure aw and swelling of the heart. So beautiful to look at, better than a rose after a rain with delicate little bubbles of water on each soft velvet petal. More heart warming than a child opening presents on Christmas. More important than any presidential election or war.

At least it was in Dean Wincchester’s opinion that is.

Cas smiled wide as they entered the pet store, looking at every living organism in the shop as if the were the most important thing to ever walk, slither, fly, and swim on the earth. Cas’ eyes lit up when he saw the aquarium, staring in aw as the beautiful iridescent house fish swam in their tanks. Then cas’ eyes looked sad and narrowed on the tanks and dean started to worry.

            “What’s wrong Cas?” Dean asked.

“These fish, isn’t it cruel to keeps so many locked up so close together? Shouldn’t they be swimming in the river and ocean?” Cas asked innocently.

Dean’s heart sunk. “Yeah as it is very sad isn’t it” dean says now starting to regret bringing Cas.

“Dean maybe we can bring them back to the bunker.” As offered and dean felt guilt and fear.

“No Cas we can’t bring the whole pet store back home with us” Dean said, Castiel looked disappointed but there way no way in hell Dean was buying 200 fish.

“Come on lets go over to another section” Dean said fondly looking at Cas’ sad puppy dog face. Cas agreed and kept on walking Cas admiring the animals and dean admiring Cas.

They turned the next corner after Cas trying to convince dean that he needed to get all of the guinea pigs (Cas had failed to get even one). They had found the dog section, which disappointingly to Cas (but great for Dean who hates dogs) failed to have any dogs and only had toys and food. Then they went to the final spot in the store they had not gone into; Cats.

His eyes light up and he want everyone of them. but finally, much to deans demise. Cas picks up the fattest, grumpiest cat Dean had ever seen. But when dean looked into cas' big blue eyes he couldn't say no one more time.

SO they got the cat, and all the things it needs like a fricken litter box.

But it was all worth it to Dean because when they were in the impala on their way back to the bunker dean looked over and saw castiel snuggled up against his new found furry friend. he looked so adorable, so happy. the happiest dean thinks he has seen him since he fell. And dean felt so proud knowing he is the one who made castiels joy possible.
