It was a summery Sunday evening. Like always, after finish doing her work, Shelly will sit on her bed while her violet eyes roaming outside the window ravishing the delightful scene of her garden that is filled with beautiful flowers.

She started to avert her gaze from the sunflowers to the orchids. Shelly found something odd from the orchids. All of the orchids normally are purple in color, be it the strong purplish colour, grayish-purple colour, and purplish-pink colour, it will still look purple except for that one particular orchid that is hanging near to Ms. Thompson' s fence.

The orchid is all white, looking like a pile of snow in the middle of Summer. She has never seen a beautiful orchid in her life.

"It's weird and all but it's beautiful" she whispers under her breath.

" I want to go out to touch it and smell it" but she couldn't because it's hot and sunny outside.

A sudden knock on her door drives her mind off the orchid. It was Mrs. Sullivan, Shelly's mother.

"Sweetie, I heard you spent your time at the science lab this whole week during recess. Why is that honey?" asked Mrs. Sullivan.

" I don't feel like eating, mother. I want to finish all my science lab reports before going home." Shelly answered.

Mrs. Sullivan sigh.

" Honey, tell me honestly, are they people bullying you at school? Are they people calling you Goldilocks again?" Mrs. Sullivan asked with a slightly angry intonation with a mix of sadness.

"No, mother everything is fine. It's just I'm just shy around other people and I feel uncomfortable and different around my friends," she answered and avert her gaze back to the flowers.

"It's just, my abnormal skin colour. I don't like people staring at me with judgment as I cross the hallway." Shelly states.

" I don't like people treat me like I'm sick even if I feel totally fine. I feel different and weird" Shelly continued, followed by a sigh.

"You are not different and weird, sweetheart. You are special and unique" said Mrs. Sullivan.

"It's still a sad and hurtful thing mom even if you changed the words," said Shelly.

"Oh, come on. Your beautiful golden hair, your dreamy violet eyes and you, yourself- a smart, sweet scientist to be." Mrs. Sullivan replied.

Shelly rolled her eyes and looked outside the window. In the search of a relaxing view to enjoy in the midst of stress. Then she moves her gaze towards the fascinating all white orchid.

"You're right, mom. I am weird and all but I am beautiful.".
