the table was quiet with anticipation. the entire cafeteria was practically crowded around the rectangular table, phones out and recording. yeosang's anxiety was sky-rocketing, but he kept his focus on the match at hand.
'yunho already won,' the junior thought to himself, 'the only one's left in the game are me and seonghwa. i have 2 cards, a blue 8 and a +4. seonghwa has one. if the color stays blue, i can place my 8 down and get out my next turn-- but seonghwa's card depends on my whole play-
"yeo, it's your turn." san whispers, placing a hand on the junior's shoulder. he quickly shakes his head, refocusing his attention on the match. the other students were staring at yeosang with anxious eyes. the boy took a steady breath.
"uno." he spoke, placing down his two blue cards. a few whispers started, as a sly grin slides onto seonghwa's face.
"sorry yeosang, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do."
yeosang felt his stomach drop, "seonghwa, seonghwa-hyung, please-"
"uno, uno out." a +4 was slapped onto the deck, sending the cafeteria into cheers and applause. there was laughter and students yelling, as yeosang's eyes fell to the table.
"it's okay, sangie. you did great." san reassured him, rubbing a warm hand on his back. the junior was in shock-- he had lost his first game. he was honestly surprised he had even lasted 2 weeks, but his streak had to come to an end.
a few students behind the junior spoke words of encouragement and reassurance, lifting yeosang's mood slightly. he was bound to lose eventually--2 weeks had passed since yeosang joined the cast for DUNO, and he hadn't lost one match. but, his streak had to come to an end.
"are you ready for your first dare, yeosang?"
yeosang looked up, eyeing yunho across the table. he was the first person out, concluding him the winner of the match. according to the contract, the first person out of a match is deemed the winner, and everyone else is playing to be the loser. the junior sighed.
"yes, yunho."
"okay then," yunho started, beaming with excitement, "yeosang, i dare you to..."
once again, the cafeteria fell into impeccable silence, all eyes on the brown-haired senior. yeosang could feel his heart beat in his ears; it's not like he was scared— yunho made it clear in the rules that the dares are nothing extreme, but the junior can't stop his hands from shaking.
"go into the girls restroom and write, "REAL HOT GIRL SHIT" on the mirror in red lipstick."
everyone around the table burst into laughter and chatter, as yeosang's eyes widened. that wasn't that bad, he just had to be quick about it. he was actually kind of excited—the adrenaline running through his veins made the junior's legs shake.
