~Camila's POV~
Shawn paid for another night at the hotel before leaving for his next performance. I had a shift a Rosie's so I grabbed my uniform and headed for the diner, a plethora of possible lyrics rushing through my mind.
Oh, I just couldn't wait to get back to writing!

"Uh-oh. Camila is smiling on the job." I heard from behind me. Rosie gave my shoulder a squeeze and I felt my smile grow wider. "That's against the rules, Ca-Mi-Laaaa!"
I laughed out loud, almost thankful it was a slow day. "I just...had a good night, that's all." I said leaning over the counter.
Rosie waggled her finger at me. "Mhm-mhm-mhm. I hope for your sake he's a good boy." She said, picking up some leftover dishes. "I don't want none of the regretful eyes and longings of a deflowered broken-heart scaring my customers away."
I nodded sternly, picking up another table of leftovers. He didn't seem like that. I honestly surprised he didn't check out of the hotel before I woke up.
"...so who was it?"
I stopped walking, making a coffee mug slipped off my stack of dirty dishes and shatter on the floor. Well, that was an hour's pay going out of my paycheck. Ah, well, no matter. At least it diverted the attention from—
"Come on, sweet-pea. Who was it?" Rosie stood over me with a broom and dustpan.
I sighed placing the plates on the counter. "Your star boy." I murmured, taking the broom.
"The Weekend?"
"No! Wait, how do you even know who that is?"
"It's a secret." Rosie said before turning sternly. "But, if you know what's good for you, I think you should be running away while you still can, sweetie." She stated, wiping down the counter.
"Why?" I brought my head down and continued sweeping. I knew exactly what was coming. The same conversation mi madre went through about meeting the right boy. Camila, be smart. Don't let him have all of your heart. He could drain you dry like a vampire if you don't have garlic ready. Whatever metaphor that was supposed to be... It was all just to scare the simple thought of any interaction out of you as a teen. But this felt different from all those other times. A guy who likes music the way I do, he sort of talks about his feelings, and he really wants to be around me. Maybe this time it would be different. It had to be.
"Camila, Shawn is always on the move. Never in town for more than three days before leaving for weeks. Even for me. After taking him in for a few months, I tried to invite him to a Thanksgiving dinner. He refused, but said all he wanted was any leftovers after returning from a performance, which I happily gave to him. My point is he cares more about his job than anything. How do you know he will drop everything just because he met another girl?"
"Another girl?"
"Si, he had a girl or two during the time I took care of him. No, he didn't...pop a cherry like he did with you—"
"Rosie!"
"But, he made it clear with both girls from the start he wasn't one to stay. He did tell you that, no?"
