The bell rang and Rowan reflexively greeted the customer as he was scooping up ice cream for another, "Welcome to Renaults' Malts! What sweet treat can we whipped up for you today?"
"Who are you young man?"
Rowan looked up from the banana split her was constructing and saw a older but foxy looking red-head flash him a blinding smile, "My name's Rowan ma'am"
"I'm no ma'am." The woman corrected with a laugh.
"I apologize miss."
"Rowan. That's a good strong name, a bit uncommon but it suits your face."
Rowan blushed as he handed the banana split to his co-worker Zach to ring up, "I don't know about all that. It's just the name my mama gave me." he said as he threw a hand towel over his shoulder.
"Got a last name to go with that?"
"August. Rowan August."
"Hm. That's a memorable name for a memorable face."
"I thank you kindly... miss."
"How old are you?"
"Sixteen, I'll be turning seventeen next month though."
"Perfect." Replied the red-head, for whatever reason she was pleased by this information.
Rowan wasn't sure if he was comfortable with all these questions, "Sorry but I didn't catch your name? You aren't from around here are you? I kind of know everyone." Rowan asked.
"Regina Michaelson, but please, just call me Gina." She said as she fumbled around in her purse for something, "And to answer your non-question I'm most definitely not from around here. I was just on the highway when I had to make a pit stop for gas and happened to drive pass this place on my way back. I hadn't had a malt milkshake in years! I'm technically on a diet but I won't tell if you don't! Hah! Found it!" She exclaimed as she pulled out a metal card holder.
She opened it and pulled out a card, handing it to Rowan. He took the card from her and read:
REGINA MICHAELSON
TALENT AGENT
Modeling • Acting • Singing
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA"Wait? Is this for real?" Rowan chuckled after reading her number on the card. "I've never acted and I'm only ever sang in Sunday School miss."
"Well, we can see about acting and singing later but I was thinking modeling for you. You have very striking features. Dark hair, clear blue eyes, excellent bone structure, tall, fit. I could picture you in a Halston or Calvin Klein ad campaign."
"I definitely cannot." Rowan replied, he and Bryce made eye contact not sure what to make of Gina.
"Believe me. I have seen many forgettable faces get signed on, with a little training you would be a hot commodity."
Rowan hit the card before putting it in his back pocket, uncomfortable with this attention, "You said you were craving a malt milkshake?"
Gina nodded.
"Well, I'm about to make all your dreams come true." He joked.
