It was early morning, meaning Natalie and Hope were awake.

Alaric wanted all upperclassmen to gather for a important meeting.

"Given our recent influx of monsters, Sheriff Donovan and I have decided we need to take drastic action. Please give him your full attention." Alaric asked.

Matt walked up to the stand, and started passing around photos.

"Like Dr. Saltzman was saying, local girls Dana Lilien and Sasha Stoteraux didn't come home last night. Dana sometimes skips town for a few days to party, but this is a first for Sasha." Matt informed.

"Thank you, Sheriff Donovan. Now while the knife is away with Dorian and things are quiet on his end, it won't hurt to assume the worst." Alaric suggested.

"What do you think happened to them?" Natalie whispered, over to Hope.

"I don't know. She was there yesterday, and now she's gone." Hope answered.

Natalie looked at MG, and they shrugged.

"Now, I'll need a few of you to volunteer to go to Mystic Falls High under the guise of an exchange program meant to improve relations between our schools, which, unfortunately, is necessary, given recent events." Alaric ranted.

"Now, I give you permission to compel them, to gather materials for locator spells, because any information we can get will make all the difference." Alaric finished.

Lizzie stood up, and faced everyone.

"Well, I guess that I can set aside my differences with Dana for a day, because that is what heroes do. So I volunteer as tribute." Lizzie offered.

Natalie shook her head, and tried to swallow a laugh.

"She battles one gargoyle, and suddenly, she's Mother Teresa." Hope sneered.

Natalie laughed, and nudged her sister.

"I'm in." Kaleb said.

"I'm in, too." MG added.

"I'd like to help." Hope volunteered.

Matt looked at his niece, wanting her to help out.

Natalie stood up, and smiled.

"Me too." Natalie said.

Alaric smiled.

"Okay. You all are dismissed." Alaric said.

Everyone got up, and left.

Hope followed Natalie into the library, and smirked.

"You seem happy today. Are you okay?" Hope asked.

Natalie furrowed her eyebrows, and smiled.

"Nothing. I just had a good night sleep." Natalie lied.
