Erwin's POV

I wouldn't have saved him from the Underground if I knew this would happen. I grimaced as I watched Levi flirting with my (Y/N). Well, she not technically mine. Not yet.

This had been going on for a year now. Those two were the lovebirds of the Survey Corps. (Y/N) and I have known each other since our training days, so why not me?!

(Y/N)'s POV

"Stop it." I chuckle as Levi wrapped his leg around mine under the table as I tried to have a normal conversation with our squad.

"Time to go!" Erwin all of a sudden commanded everyone. It's a few minutes early. I wonder if he's in a bad mood.

"Can you take over training? I have to help with the formation." Levi asked me as we got up to leave.

"Sure." I responded. He gave me a kiss on the cheek before heading to his office. I smile and head for the exit, too. There I see Hanji talking Erwin's ears off. "Hey you guys!" I catch up to them.

"My friend!" Hanji basically jumped on me.

"Hello, (Y/N)." Erwin's face quickly changed from before to a sweet smile.

Erwin's POV

She's so cute... How is she so cute? "We should hang out around town sometime!" Hanji said.

"That sounds great." (Y/N) smiled. "Don't you think, Erwin?"

"Mhm. Fantastic." I nodded. As long as he doesn't come.

We said our goodbyes and parted our separate ways. I opened the big doors to my office and found Levi in there. I internally sighed, forgetting about this. "It's about time." He said. Yeah, it's about time you d- "I can't decide who I want to cover the back of my squad."

"Well..." I looked over his current squad chart. Levi's smart, so he knows what he's doing, but ultimately I have the final say. "How about we move (Y/N) from the front to the middle?"

"But she's my strongest soldier."

"Yeah, but-" I had to cut myself off. Putting her in the middle will give her the most safety, but I can't tell him that. "You were worried about the back. Putting her in the middle will let her be closer to all the sides of the squad."

"Okay..." He slowly shrugged. We looked over a few more things for his squad and the whole Survey Corps. My patience grew thinner by the second.

Levi and I used to be good friends. He probably still thinks we are. But I basically saved him from the Underground, and this is how he repays me?! We won't live forever, so if I'm gonna get (Y/N) to be mine, I have to act now.

"Okay, I think that's it." I concluded.

"Okay... thanks." He gathered his papers. But how exactly will I go about it? I can't defeat him in a fight... Oh, I know!

I waited a few minutes after Levi left and normally walked down to Hanji's lab. Most of the squads were outside training for the expedition next week. I quietly opened her door and shut it back. I had to step across the hundreds of papers and test tubes all over the floor to get to her messy shelf of suspicious liquids. Looking through all of them, I finally found what I was looking for at the back. Arsenic!

I grabbed the small bottle and crossed my arms, heading out to the mess hall. The kitchen staff thankfully already cleaned up, so I'm all good to go. I used the spare key to Levi's tea cabinet and grabbed his favorite. Carefully, I coated some of the tea leaves with the arsenic. A little bit will go a long way. No one will ever suspect the commander... right?

Slowly walking back, I put the poison back where it originally was. I smirked as I looked down the hallway towards Levi's office. Goodbye, Captain.

(Y/N)'s POV

"That was so much fun! I hope Erwin lets me have my own squad soon!" I said happily as I finished training Levi's squad for the day.

"But then you'll have to leave mine." Levi looked at me with the eyes he knows I can't resist.

"Oh..." I looked down. Levi chuckled and patted his lap. I walked over and sat on it, wrapping my arms around his neck.

"You're in the middle of the formation next week." He said.

"Okay?" They've always put me on the frontlines... Oh well. "Are you almost done?"

"Almost." He answered, taking a sip from his tea cup. Why is he so obsessed with tea?

"Hmm." I hummed as I buried my face into his neck and let my feet dangle from the chair. I'm just as short as he is. Soon enough, though, I felt something like water. I lifted my head up to feel that Levi was suddenly really hot. "Are you okay?" I asked, worried.

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine." He sounded hoarse. I looked over him in concern before he fell into a coughing fit. He grabbed his throat as if it were itching and burning.

"I'll go get the nurse-"

"I said I'm fine." He choked, grabbing his tea. He smelt it before finally passing out onto the floor. I screamed before managing to lift him into my arms and grab the tea, sprinting down the hall to Hanji's lab.

"Hanji, please help!" I cried. She laid him on the couch before examining the tea and rushing over to one of her shelves.

"Someone poisoned him." She said all too calmly. Whenever Hanji does get out of her hyperactive state, she's all to serious.

"He's gonna be okay though, right?!" I asked. Hanji stared at the half-full bottle in her hand. "He's gonna live, right?!"

"I don't know!" She threw the bottle onto the ground, shattering it. Finally it was silent as Levi stopped breathing.

"Hey, wake up!" I shook him helplessly. Hanji managed to carry him to the infirmary to hopefully help him live. I gripped my hair and paced back and forth as the millions of possibilities ran through my head.

In the end, Levi did end up surviving, but just barely. He had to stay in the infirmary for several days, missing the expedition. It's been a while now since then. We still haven't figured out who attempted to kill Levi, but once we do, they will pay.
