With the King dead and no heir to the throne, the kingdom was forced into change. During that change, the marshes became recognized as a neighboring kingdom on the condition of trade between kingdoms. Marlas is still growing as I reach another year within its borders. A proper government connecting the towns and people. A council, on which I am one of nearly thirty members, was formed to regulate laws through Marlas.
Even though I'm proud of what I'm helping this kingdom become, I'm much more proud of my dear friend Edo. The warrior medic. She trains guards three times a week and is in charge of commanding the capitals defenses. Her blade is always steady and her heart always true.
Vuli is helping the capital, even in his old age, to automate. Cranes, conveyors, and pulleys litter the large city that I awoke in long ago.
My dear Ava is grown. I've watched her become a wonderful healer, the likes of which I've never seen before. She is strong enough to lift even the largest of humans and can tend to them with the same care that her mother had given her. She is married and has a son. I hope them the best.
On this day, I look back at what I've done and the lives I've taken. I do regret the deaths but I do not regret what came of them. Now, as my hair grays and I finish writing what you have read, I wish to spend time with my family. I will cherish my last years with those I wish to stand by but no longer can.
