She stood unwavering in front of him soon he realized what had just happened.
Zoha's eyes were putting daggers into him. He tried to smile. She cocked her brows. Then she started laughing.
Rehaab smiled seeing her laugh. Though he didn't know the reason.
Suddenly her laugh went silent. As she saw the tail of chameleon just behind Rehaab on the curtain, hanging at the edge of her bed.
She hitched him by hand to herself. He bumped into her she lost her balance and they both almost fell, when he put his hand holding her waist she gripped onto his shoulder tightly. Both straightened up, Zoha felt a little dance of butterflies in her stomach, Rehaab felt a little spark.
They both laughed.
"Should I kill it?" he asked, he knew she wouldn't allow that.
"Why are you always thinking about a murder?" she cocked her brows, sarcastically.
"It's not always, but it's dangerous it can be poisonous and it's in your room so I may kill it for your safety..." he declared.
"I'll sleep somewhere else, anyways it's hidden now it's difficult to find it" Rehaab turned around to glance at the curtain which was abandoned now..
"Why don't you sleep in my room?" It left Rehaab's mouth and she blushed a little but then she immediately hid her emotions with a facade smile.
"I have so many questions for you Mr. Rehaab Ahmed" she tried to shift the conversation.
He took a step towards her and was now standing in front of her, closer enough that their shirts would touch each-other with a little air-blow.
"What? Mrs Rehaab Ahmed" he looked into her eyes, she averted her gaze for she couldn't see in those eyes that were so deep that she always felt a debt of unwanted pleasure burgeoning inside her soul.
"But first let's leave this room" she warned him now giving him a serious look.
"You're so stubborn by the way, don't you have any fear?" this time she looked into his eyes.
"Sorry, did you say anything?" he actually didn't listen, as if the words were being melted in his ears, but the doors were shut, he only knew her standing this close to him and that was all.
"Ufh! Unbelievable" she took a step backward and was going to leave when he grasped on her hand and pulled her towards him and with the other hand he shut the door.
Then he pinned her to the back of the door. As he bowed a little, coming in front of her face.
"I hate conversations and deals left in the middle" he said. She felt his breath entering her nose. She couldn't hear what he said. Her mind was spinning her belly was taking turns. She felt her eyes leaking water. It was water of extreme feeling that she was feeling for the hundredth time for the person, she never imagined herself falling in love with.
"What were you saying?" his gaze traced her face all the way to her lips.
They were fluffy and pink pair of strawberry color.
She felt her senses loosing, she didn't understand the urge in herself.
"Rehaab? Rehaab? Are you inside? Are you okay?" his mother called out from outside. He didn't waver.
Zoha got worried, she tried jolting his shoulder.
"Your mom is here... What will she think now seeing us alone with a closed door?" she whispered, her voice was lost at the end of her throat.
He closed his eyes taking in a deep breath, when he exhaled he took a step backward, without uttering a word."Let's be friends" he smiled while spreading out his hand..
"Shut up... what are you saying? We don't have time for such things.. Your mom is outside let me open the door" she put her hand on the knob when he grabbed it and pinned her again against the door again.
"Shake my hand and this door will be opened" he smirked. She rolled her eyes.
"Are you crazy? Let me go, they will doubt my character" just then there was a tap on the door.
"Are you inside?" Rehaab's mom was tapping at the door.
He didn't say anything still looking into her eyes.
"Oh God! Okay sure!" as she shook his hand he pulled her towards himself into a little embrace. As he went towards the window that opened in the garden.
"Why you don't listen in the first place?" He turned around and winked as he hopped in the garden from it.
Zoha was left in awe. She was feeling a layer of overwhelming joy with a layer of sadness of him leaving this soon running through her veins. She had felt his lips so close to her. And she hadn't felt like swooning before. His aura had a clumpy mixture of feelings, she had always felt to the core.
She corrected her hijab a bit and then she opened the door. Sofie and Rehaab's mom was standing at the door and Suhaina was standing at a little distance sneaking glances inside the room.
"Yes aunty? Sorry was in the washroon" she hated lying, but she was worried about the only thing in her life, her self-respect, for which she couldn't take a risk...
"Do you know where is Rehaab?" she had gotten a hint and Sofie must have told her about Rehaab and her being together in the room together. She thought.
"I don't where he is"
"Sofie do you know?"
"I don't know mam, replied Sofie who seemed perplexed standing at one corner looking inside the room. Zoha gave her a tight lipped smile.
"No ma'am I don't know" declared Sofie looking at Zoha.
"Sorry for bothering you, it's just Suhaina told me about the chameleon and you and Rehaab alone with it. So I got worried.
"You're okay by the way, right?"
"Yeah I'm fine Alhamdulillah. But Sofie please ask the guard to resolve this matter I am coming out in the garden..." she declared as she heard the violin being played in the garden.
That was quick. She smiled while murmuring.
"Rehaab is outside aunty, I think beside the fountain, he loves playing violin there.." Suhaina added in the middle.
"Oh, you know him very well" his mother laughed as she pinched Suhaina's cheek.
They all came out when Sofie entered the room and looked for him everywhere, she couldn't think about the window 'cause there was brier of thorns spread outside of it....
