Oh mother, oh dear sweet mother of mine,
I am sorry that I failed to be the daughter you have dreamt of passionately. I've chosen to be selfish, and I know I will regret my decisions, but I must act upon the situation at hand. The days you asked me like "How was your day?" or "How are you feeling?" I have been lying. Life to me has been nothing but dull shades of black and white. The ocean lost it's enamouring blue and the beaches no longer glinted in the rays of sunshine. Mom, I have lost myself in a storm that happened that destroyed my consciousness.
I tried everything from looking at the old Polaroid photos to listening to old Beatles tracks, nothing. I have set out to find once again what made the world beautiful. When I have succeeded I will return in a heartbeat. Please understand that the world without color or beauty isn't worth living in. One must change their fate in order for the world to change.
Now by this point you must be in tears with the whole puffy eyes and stuffy nose, but mom I'm doing this for my happiness. You told me over and over again to do what made me happy, and this is it. I am on a run for the happiness everyone deserves. Do not dwell or fret over my empty presence. For the stress of an absent daughter, I am sorry. I must of mentioned my return at least twice now and you will wonder when. My answer is quite open-ended and bland, when the time is right I shall return.
You've supported every decision I have made and hopefully not up to here. It is already too late to stop me, but I do wish you will accept it and not live in burden. Farewell mother, I will never forget the lullabies and kisses you smothered me in as a child.
Love,

The small gray-haired lady crumpled to the floor wailing. The letter slid out of her wrinkly hands. The neat inked words were smudged with the salty tears of the lonely mother. Without it's precious child to protect the mother became hollow shell contorted with confusion and regret, wishing she could of saved her youngling before it was too late.
The only thing the mother could do was wait until her daughter's arrival came. She picked up the thin piece of paper which held the fresh memory of her daughter and tucked it into the collar of her chiffon blouse. The paper started to warm with every heart beat. The woman stood there with dried tears on her cheeks.
"Oh darling don't you know promises were mean't to be broken?" she let out a small cry.
With that said she took her coat and went out to the world her daughter went to rediscover. The world lost it's beauty instantly just like her dear Ferris has described. To the doctor's office she went disappearing into the wintry morning.
