Ferris wanted to set the bus on fire, correction, she wanted to set everything on fire. The bus halted, but not at the destination. The world totally was in favor of Ferris. So here she was camping out on the side of an empty highway as a guy played his guitar near a small campfire.

This is adventure. Adventure is unpredictable. Adventure has no confines. Ferris repeated to herself in attempts to calm herself. The adventures she saw in the movies never were like this. They weren't stranded on highways in the midst of a cold spring. She imagined herself in a toasty hotel swinging mugs of beer and dancing on the tables. Maybe a few shots of whiskey and karaoke till midnight. Oh God, I'm just making the situation worse. She grumbled trying to erase the vision of a happy drunken night from her head.

Soon the steady strumming of the guitar turned to a thumping bass, the fire engulfed her body heating it up, and the sips of water from her bottle tasted like the familar brew back at home. Her form started to ease as her eyes fluttered close.

Suddenly, there was something itching at the back of her throat. It was a song. She opened her mouth, but not a single word was uttered. She tooks a few moments to breath and listen to the beat of the guitar. Her lips curled into a smile as she let her voice roll out into the starry night.

Darling this evening
has been a bust.
The night is still
young, yet my soul
is turning old.

Release my soul into
the skies above,
let me float with
the heaven's clouds.

Let's go for a ride,
you and I,
up into the sky.

Let the world guide
this lost girl,
singing the sadness
of her soul.

Fill the empty spaces,
pencil in the faces,
and take me to places
of the unseen.
The ones I see in
my dreams.

She let her rich voice fill the silent world. Then, an applause erupted all around her. She opened my eyes to see the other people staring at her with a glint in their eyes. The guitar guy contained strumming, but his eyes met mine and he gave me a small smile.

At that very moment, the gap inside started to be slowly filled like a medication to ease the disease.
