Chapter 7

~Clara's POV~
      The next day I felt depressed though I don't even know why. So I got the kids ready for school and took them.

       I decided to stay home. On the way home I felt like I was being followed but chose to ignore it. Once home I quickly entered the house locking the door behind me.

       RING! RING!

  I must've jumped thirty feet in the air once I heard the doorbell. My heart was racing yet again I don't know why. I had hoped whoever it was thought no one was home so I stayed silent.

     RING! RING!

    Ugh... Fine I'll just peak a bit. I slightly opened the door to peak through and saw it was Skylar. I let out a sigh of relief and fully opened the door taking in her appearance.

      She wore a simple black T-shirt with grey cargo pants. I looked to her face and held in a gasp. Her once lively eyes looked dull and had bags and darks circles around as if she hadn't slept in awhile. Her face was pale and she... well despite still looking beautiful, she looked broken.

    "I-I probably sh-shouldn't have come her-"

I cut her off by embracing her I don't know why but I felt like it brought us both comfort. "You wanna go and lie down?"

    "I, I kinda don't wanna be alone do you um do you mind" she asked timidly lowering her head. I took two fingers and gently lifted her head up to meet my gaze, smiling while I replied" I wouldn't mind it."

      I had carried her all the way to my room because she really looked exhausted. I was going to set her down but she held a fisted grip on my shirt. I chuckled lightly and layed with her. As soon as I layed down, her sleeping form unconsciously turned around resting her head on my chest and her fist gripped the shirt over my stomach. I blushed heavily then wrapped my arms around her as well and eventually had a peaceful slumber.

~Skylar's POV~

    I was warm and content. I opened my eyes to see my beautiful mate. She was adorable while sleeping. She started to twist and turn as if trying to run from something. I cuddled more into her and held onto her tighter and waited til she stopped. "Skylar, Skylar" I heard an angel speak. Wait am I dead? "Skylar" oh it's just my lovely mate's angelic voice. I must've fallen back asleep. "Hmm?" I hummed stirring awake.

    "I've made lunch." Once said she went back down the stairs. I followed her scent and soon I saw pancakes, bacon, eggs, and toast with orange juice. My mouth quickly watered at the aroma of it all. "This looks like breakfast" I told her teasingly with a smirk.

  "Well then it's brunch but you can have breakfast at any time in the day" ehh... She got me there.

"Ehh... You got me....this time" I whispered the last part to myself.

   After breakfast or 'brunch' we had settled on her couch and watched TV. We were watching spongebob because she said it had been the best show in the world. I was liking my mate more and more each day. 

    'Skylar, you must return home now we have to talk' my mother had mindlinked.

   I didn't want to leave my mate but I would have to go home eventually. "Hey Clara?" I asked sadly. "Yeah? Oh are you alright?" She responded by wrapping me in a tight hug upon looking at my tears flying freely down my face. I had calmed down a bit due to her touch. "Thank you, I have to go home now." I really wish I didn't, I couldn't handle seeing Sammy like that again. Her hot breath breathed on my neck causing goosebumps to arise when she replied, "OK, I'm guessing your family is worried for you and if you want maybe I'll go over later to check on yo-"

    "YES! Ermm... I mean if you have the time then yeah but if you're busy then you don't have to but it would be really great if you did becau-" she cut off my rambling with a kiss on the cheek. "OK maybe I will" she said smiling at my reddened face and with that I left her house grinning ear to ear like an idiot.

Like a fucking happy idiot.
