chapter 4

Anna's pov ❤️💕

  "Caitlyn get off of me right now or else!!!"
You probably already know that Caitlyn is lying on top of me. She is one of the skinniest girls I know but damn it she weighed alot. She kept moving on top of me trying to find a comfortable spot, and I kept moving too to get her fat ass off of me.
Caitlyn moved again and I took that opportunity to push her off me and she landed on the floor with a thud and a loud groan, my breathing was ragged because she was basically suffocating me with her body.

  "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!!!" Caitlyn was finally awake and boy was she mad at me, well it serves her right it was her fault for lying on top of me. She was glaring at me and trust me if looks could kill I'd be six feet under by now.
   " Look Caitlyn, I need you to calm down you were on top of me and I had no choice I'm really sorry okay please don't kill me yet" I pleaded trying to act cute but by the face she was giving me right now I knew she wasn't buying it. I quickly got up and raced out the door and she trudged behind me, she was closing in fast and I wasn't very good at running so I just stopped before she had the chance to tackle me to the ground and torture me again.
     "Caitlyn I know you're mad at me right now but if you let me go I'll make you breakfast just the way you like it, deal?".
She looked at me skeptically deciding whether she could trust me or not, Caitlyn loved food just as much as I did and I knew that a good breakfast would calm her rage and save me, I looked her straight in the eyes as she weighed her options between killing me or having an amazing breakfast and I saw her giving in to the idea of food and finally she caved.
  " Fine, deal but if you annoy again I'll eliminate you" she said and walked away leaving me with breakfast duties.
I scurried to the kitchen to get started on breakfast. I took some oats and eggs and also the necessary ingredients to make pancakes. I might not be good at anything else but I pride myself in my cooking not bragging or anything but I was an amazing cook all thanks to my mom, she taught me alot and I'd always help her in the kitchen with dinner. I sighed, I needed to go visit her soon I really missed her alot.

I just finished setting up breakfast on the counter when Caitlyn walked in and immediately dug in, if we didn't have the exact same eating habits I'd call her a pig but knowing that I was probably worse than her I just kept shut.
    " So Anna what are you gonna do now that you quit your job?" She asked with a very serious expression. I really haven't thought about it that much, but now that she brought it up, I kinda started panicking but I brushed it off.
  " I actually haven't really thought about it but I guess I have to go on job hunt again, besides I'm super talented who wouldn't wanna hire me" I finished with a smug smile. Caitlyn just smiled and shook her head at me.
  " Don't worry, I'll keep an ear out for you but just keep looking ok, everything is gonna be fine" she said in a reassuring tone. I just smiled at her, this was why she was my best friend in the whole world.

Caitlyn left after breakfast cause she had to go home and change before going to work and I was left alone with my thoughts again. I needed to start applying for jobs as soon as possible so I picked up my laptop, made my self a nice cup of coffee and got to work. I searched for job applications that were in my line or field and alot of things popped up but the pay grade was so fucking low, I sighed, I kinda regret quitting my job a little bit now, Mr Carrington might have been a perverted asshole but at least he paid very well and very generously. I kept searching and searching but I literally found nothing that piqued my interest because they were all internship jobs, I couldn't go from being a supervisor almost manager to being an intern, yeah that just wouldn't work.

By the time I was done with my job research it was already 5pm, I didn't even realize the time, I stretched and went to the kitchen to make something to eat. I hadn't eaten all day save for the coffee I drank earlier. As I was rummaging through my fridge my phone rang and it was Caitlyn.
  "Hello love, where are you?" I said as I answered the phone.
  " Hey Anna, I just got off work and I'm coming over. I'm really hungry so make something good okay? I also have good news for you so be prepared". She said, of course she would come over she was way too lazy to go home and cook herself, considering the amount of time she spends at my house she basically lived here. We ended the conversation with me saying ok to everything she told me. I decided to cook spaghetti and Chicken Because why not.

I was setting the table or rather the kitchen counter because who needs tables when you have counters when Caitlyn walked in and threw her bag on the couch.
  " ughhh I had an extremely long day at work today, please tell me dinner is ready I haven't since breakfast." She said, exhaustion clear in her voice, she clearly had a rough day at work.
  " You're just in time I just finished making dinner, come sit I'll serve it up for you."
She walked over to the counter and sat down while I served up some spaghetti and Chicken on to her plate, she muttered a thank you and immediately dug in. I served some for myself too and we ate in silence up until I remember that she had something to tell me.
   " Hey, you said you had something to tell me, what was it?"
She looked up from her food and nodded her mouth full, she swallowed.
  " Yeah umm, I asked around for job openings at work today and I got something good for you. A colleague told me that Acerò enterprises are hiring and I immediately thought to tell you I knew you would love it." She said excitement evident on her face. Acerò enterprises is the leading company that everyone wanted to work at, it was amazing, it had branches everywhere in the world and it was still expanding, Even Mr Carrington as perverted as he might be wanted a partnership with them. I couldn't pass up this opportunity it was a once in a lifetime opportunity so I prodded Caitlyn to tell me more and she did. I learnt that the interview was on a Thursday and it was Tuesday today. All I had to do was fill out an application online on their website and go for the interview.

After dinner, Caitlyn and I went to bed after each taking a shower, Caitlyn fell asleep easily cause of exhaustion but  I couldn't sleep I was really excited about this interview it could really change my life if I got this job.
I guess me quitting was a good thing after all.
