Allison's POV

It was going on a little past 5. I had no clue where to go next. I can't go back home, I refuse to. I was still upset about what happened I knew I needed to talk to my mom about this soon. I sat in my car in the parking lot, with my seat laid back. Thinking. I was thinking about today, and then I started thinking about Lucas. I wanted to see him, I wanted to let all my anger and frustration out to him. I looked back at the time on my phone. 5:06. I doubt he's even at work still. Yet, something inside kept telling me to give it a try. If he wasn't at work, I would just sleep in my car tonight. I didn't want to bother him if he was with his wife. I bet If I just showed up she would kill me right in the front yard.

I pulled into the parking lot of his work. There were more cars than I thought would be here, but he works for a corporation so of course there would be a lot of people here. I got out of my car, looking at every single car. Bingo! I saw his Black Buick sitting towards the middle of the parking lot. I made my way through the parking lot up towards the building. The building was about 7 stories tall, and the glass windows were huge. You could see workers working, answering phone calls, typing on their computers and being productive. I opened the glass doors to warm air. When you first walk in you run into a huge round desk where about 4 women sit. They were probably receptionists. They all gave me this evil look, filled with confusion.

"May I help you?"

I hesitated. Everyone always looks so angry nowadays.

"Um yes, Um, Hi. I'm looking for-"

I was cut off quickly.

"You have to have an appointment ma'am if you are meeting with a Doctor"

I froze. Well shit. Now I’m screwed. I looked around the lobby area. It was divided into 4 different hallways. He could be anywhere. I couldn't make a run for it.

"Oh. im so sorry, aren't you Dr. Daniels daughter?"

Another receptionist said. Oh? They probably are getting me confused with someone else. Well, this is the only way I would be able to get in.

"Yes, I was confused, I was thinking why didn't you remember me?"

They all laughed and smiled at me. One rummaged through a pile of lanyards.

"We are so sorry miss Daniels. We get so many people each day"

She handed me a green lanyard. I smiled and took it. I decided to just walk around and at least act like I know what I'm doing. Every business worker that walked past me smiled. One even called me Penelope. Hm. Penelope Daniels. I stopped walking and realized, this place is too huge, there are 7 floors and so many offices on each floor. It would take a while to even find Lucas. So why not ask someone? I waited until some Man in a straight black suit walked by me. He gave a smile at me and looked away.

"Sir"

I say. He stopped and turned around to me with a smile.

"Hi. I'm looking for Lucas- Um, Dr. Matthews office?"

"Oh, he is on the 7th floor! Room 39"

I walked away. Great, on the 7th floor. There better be a damn elevator, I’m not in the best shape to climb 7 flights of stairs. I found an elevator towards the middle of the hallway. I was nervous to just randomly show up. He might think I'm weird? or being annoying. Maybe I should’ve just waited till tomorrow.

I walked along the 7th floor. White walls, white floors, and huge windows. The room was full of furniture along the walls and flower plots and paintings hanging along the wall. This hall seemed more warming and comforting. Families, single parents and even teenagers sat in a little lobby area, watching the news on the TV projected off the ceiling. I looked around and came across room 39 with a silver plate that said Dr. Mathews. I looked through the glass square of his door and saw him sitting in his office. He was so focused into his computer he didn't look up. His hair looked messy, his tie was a little crooked. He must of been busy. I took a deep breath and gave a small knock. I opened the door a little bit, peeking my head through. I met with his eyes and before he could say anything, I said whatever came to mind that would make him smile.
