Their blood was cursed. Damned to the confinement of hell. Bound to the fire which swam in their veins. A future had been placed in front of them, fate playing all the wrong cards, seemingly cutting them from the game. But the twins? They weren't destined to lose, they played their own game, making their own rules, choosing all the right cards. And that past time lasted decades- centuries even, not even time could kill them off. They weren't immortal, far from it. But with the right moves, June and Judas won checkmate, eliminating the opposition as strategically as they could- not without casualties though. They could be removed from the board as quick as they were put on it, but they were sly, cunning. And the Gemini twins always found a way to cheat death, to cheat the game, because as long as they lived, the Gemini blood line continued.
And every few decades. The game restarted, a new set of twins would be born, leaving the last to perish. And June and Judas would be reborn, following each and every move like before, smarter and more unpredictable.
They weren't destined to lose. No. Their destiny was in death. And good God we're they winning it.
