Sebastian
I'd finally been able to shift on my 6th birthday which was very young even for an Alpha. My Mom and Dad were very proud of me and Fenris. I had been wanting to go on a run all day but Dad was in a meeting and Mom was busy helping the other she-wolves so I decided that I would go out on my own.

This wasn't my first run but it still felt just as great. I ran and ran until Fenris got something stuck in his paw and couldn't get it out. Since my wolf was in pain and I wasn't experienced enough I couldn't change to my human form.

We sat under that bush waiting for either Mom or Dad to hunt us down but after waiting for a while I caught the smell of a human girl. Mom always said to be cautious around humans but something about her rose scent calmed me so we sat still and waited.

Eventually, she wandered over near my bush so I let out a low whimper to try and catch her attention. When she turned her head towards me I knew I accomplished my mission. She took a deep breath and looked under my bush.

I let out an instinctive growl but I didn't want to hurt this tiny human. The tiny human was pretty she had dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes just like mine.

"Are you okay, Wolfie?" The tiny human asked me with concern in her tone. I was confused as to why the tiny human wasn't afraid of me but I crawled towards her and raised my paw.

She delicately picked up my paw and examined it. "Poor thing! I can pull it out but it may hurt a bit, " tiny human told me trying to warn me. I nodded my head trying to tell her that it's okay and to go ahead. "Okay, ready? 1..2...3!"

I let out a yelp without realizing it and regretted it after. I didn't want the tiny human to think I was weak but she didn't seem to think less of me. "I'm sorry, Wolfie. I hope it didn't hurt too bad."

After I realized the pain had stopped I lifted up and sniffed my paw, examine it. I was so grateful that tiny human helped me I jumped on her and licked her face. "Okay okay! You're welcome but you can stop slobbering all over me now!" The tiny human told me with a giggle. "I like her giggle, " Fenris told me, "me too, " I agreed with him. "We have to protect this tiny human, " he said, saying what I was already thinking.

I tried my best to motion and tell her to sit down and wait for me and luckily, I think just understood. As soon as I made sure she was sitting I ran behind a tree so I could shift. "Wait Wolfie come back!"

I gave the tiny human a bark in response to tell her I wasn't trying to run away. I went behind the tree and quickly shifted. I put the shorts I had been carrying around on and went to go find my tiny human.

As I rounded the tree you could tell she was confused. "Umm who are you?" My tiny human questioned me. I smiled at her and pointed at myself with my thumb, "My name's Sebastian!"

My tiny human gave me the prettiest smile, "Hi Sebastian! Did you see a wolf run by you a second ago?" I was a little confused. Did all humans know about werewolves? "Haven't you ever seen a werewolf before?"

She looked confused again, "you mean like the ones in movies?" The movies weren't completely right but whatever. "Well, sort of I guess... That was my wolf his name's Fenris and he wants me to say thank you for getting rid of that thorn, " I wanted to let her know that Fenris and I were grateful.

She let out a giggle, "happy I could help." I enjoy talking to her, she seemed like a good person, unlike the people Dad is always talking about. "Sebastian do you want to be my friend?"

I decided I would mess with a bit, "Yeah I'll be your friend but you have to tell me your name first." I grinned at her and I could tell she got slightly embarrassed.

"Oh sorry! My name is Lillith!" Lilith huh?

"I like that name. It suits her, " Fenris told me and I had to agree it did suit her well, but I wanted to give her a nickname.

"Okay, Lilli now that we know each other's name we can be friends!"

"Lilli?" She questioned me.

"Yeah, that's my nickname for you. Like it?" I hoped she did because I already did. She thought about it for a second, " Yeah I like it, Bash."

I smiled at my nickname. No one in the pack dares give me a nickname in case my Dad doesn't like it.

We both heard what I could only assume was her Dad calling her home. I was upset she was leaving.

"I can't wait to tell Mom all about how I made a friend today!" I was a little worried because I didn't know if the bad humans would find out if she said anything.

"Wait, Lilli, you can't tell anyone you saw me okay? I would get in a lot of trouble if someone found out I snuck out." It wasn't technically a lie but I still didn't like not telling her the whole truth but I knew she was the type that would just get worried about it.

I could tell she was a little confused but still agreed, "Okay I promise I won't tell anyone."

I wanted to see her again and so did Fenris. We felt a pull to her. "Do you want to come play tomorrow?" I grinned at her.

"Yeah! See you tomorrow, Bash!" She said while running back home.

Fenris howled with excitement at getting to see our tiny human again.

---

From that day on we were best friends. Fenris and I were in agreement that we had to protect her. I know someday Dylan, my little brother, was upset that I wouldn't let him go on runs with me but I knew that he would tell Mom and Dad about me having a human friend and I wouldn't be allowed to go back. Plus, even if it was a little selfish I just wanted her to myself.

We grew up together, she told me all about Aiden, her first boyfriend, who I wanted to hurt from the start because I just knew he wasn't good enough and then she told me about how he broke her heart. Fenris and I both now hate the name Aiden.

Even though I know she didn't understand much about werewolves she still listened when I complained about my life. She listened when I told her about how Dad was already making me train to become Alpha. It's not that I didn't want to become Alpha I just didn't want to start training because I would have less time with her.

I felt strongly towards my human friend. I would say it was a crush but I'm not really sure, so I never told her about it. All I know is I completely love everything about her. Her hair. Her smile. Her dimple only on her right cheek. Most of all, her laugh, she hated it while it was my favorite thing about her.

Everything was alright until the day of my 14th birthday, I'd chased her all around that forest after she said I couldn't catch her. We were starting up at the clouds when the random thought hit me, "Only 2 more years then I can find the girl I will love for the rest of my life."

Lilli sat up and I could smell her tears but I couldn't figure out what happened, "Lilli, what's wrong? Are you okay? Is it," I lowered my voice into a slight whisper, " that time of the month again?"

She just shook her head, "Then what's wrong because that's when you usually randomly started crying?" It's true, she'd lose a game and ball like a baby for like 20 minutes. She lightly slapped me.

"I don't want you to leave me. I need you, Sebastian." She whispered under her breath. It hurt my heart that something I said could make her cry but gave me butterflies at the same time because she felt that way about me.

I sat there for a second just processing before hugging her, "I will never ever leave you because I need you to Lillith." I was completely serious when I told her this. She meant so much to me it scared me.

If only I knew what the future held for us. Maybe I would've held on a little longer or even a little tighter.
