It was a summer romance. Nothing more, nothing less. I really shouldn't have expected it to end in 'Happily Ever After' or something stupid like that. I was just some girl he had a fling with and he was just some guy that made me forget.
But in a way, Jason Grace turned out to be so much more than that. He was like my rock, my key to sanity. Though this fling was never meant to be anymore than just that, a fling. And I had made it so much more than that. Maybe I had came off as too clingy or something, I mean, there has to be a reason he left without a word.
After a few weeks of crying my sore ass off, I decided, all those words he spoke were really just lies. All those, promises of 'Forever' they weren't real. To him, Piper was just another name to add to the list of hopeless victims that had fallen so in love. I didn't want to be that girl that would squeal at the feel of finally being noticed. No, that isn't who I am anymore. Piper Mclean is not that girl. She is strong, brave and will never back down. She won't fall to her knees at the sight of Jason Grace ever again.
He doesn't exist to her anymore. That's all there is to it. Nothing more, nothing less.
