3: We hit the mother load...

"WooooooOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" "Ugh. Lame." "That's like, totally cool!!" You heard multiple exclamations as you walked-yes WALKED, you weren't about to run at light speed after just eating copious amounts of cake-towards the training hall. Peering around a corner, you saw a very annoyed batman attempting to give the team a mission, but it seemed they couldn't sit still for some reason? What had he said?? Batman sighed, yet again "look. I can't exactlly assign you anything if you continuosly speak,now shut up and listen." Everything stopped, you were pretty sure robin stopped breathing for a while too. "Good... how, are you just going to stand there (y/n)? Or are you actually going to accompony us?"

You froze when all eyes led twords you, and you gave off a goofy smile "uh, yeah...sorry about that." And with that you stepped into the room, and plopped onto the floor-recieving a few odd looks from the others. With your presence soon in the room, batman continued speaking. "As I was saying... superman requires additional help for this mission." So,that's why they couldn't stop talking...you thought to yourself, but then glanced over to supeerboy, who looked as if he had gotten hit by a train-unharmed but severly pissed. Maybe he should stay behind... your head snapped up hold up! That wasn't me?! You glanced around the room, trying to see if anybody had talked, but it seemed as if they were all intently focused on batman; you were listening too....sort of.

You tried thinking again, yo! Who's in my head?? A cheery voice replied with hey!! Its megan!!! Sorry about that, I just didn't want to untidily the meeting, but I wanted to talk to you! You glanced over at megans face to see that it hadn't moved since the start of the meeting aha, its fine, I was just confused for a second is all! You smiled but could we continue this conversation later, I think people are going to look at me oddly if I keep staring at my shoe like this. You heard a slight laughter and then totally!! I'll talk to you later!!

You smiled as you now looked up from your shoe, which had been your point of concentration. You let out a slight sigh, and returned your focus to the speaker -still batman- droning on about the importance of not freaking superman out and how we were there 'strictly to help'. You didn't get why everyone was so excited though, I mean you loved superman, sure, and it was going to be hella are to be able to meet him. Yet you still thought everyone was kinda overreacting?? Maybe its just me... you were snapped from your thoughts as you were addressed directly. "(Y/n)." Batmans gaze was now pointed at you, and it was slightly unnerving. "Uhm,yes?" You questioned. "Are you going to be professional?" You blinked and replied "yeah, why wouldn't I be?" His eyes narrowed and you continued "what I mean to say is, if I'm going to meet someone new I better make a good impression, and not be a complete idiot..." he seemed to study you for a minute before replying "good. Then I'll allow you to accompany the rest of the team on this mission" you just about died from relief and flashed him a quick smile.

Then the actual talk of the 'mission' began. And you say 'mission' because it wasn't so much of a mission, as it was a border patrol. Though the others seemed a bit put off after batmans speech, you bounced excitedly on the floor, and you immediately turned with a smile as you heard wallys voice call your name.

~Wallys POV~

Ugh. I sighed and slouched into the couch a bit. A border patrol? Really?? I pouted slightly and continued thinking man, I wanted to be able to show (y/n) somewhere cool for her first mission!! Not a flippin BORDER PATROL. The bat walked away after telling us to be ready in an hour, yeah, sure, I'll suit up for doing nothing. I scolded myself slightly, I mean, I shouldn't be making this big of a deal about it...right? I was still going to be able to get out of this mountian after all. And that's good!!

With that thought I sat up straight and almost stepped on (y/n). I hadn't realized she had been sitting so close to me. The sight of her cheered me up a little, she was sitting stick straight and was still facing forward, reading the details off of the large screen in the center of the room. "Hey, (y/n)." I called half heartedly. She immediately turned to face me, and I almost fell off the couch due to suprise-but luckily I caught myself, because im just that amazing. Her (e/c) eyes were sparkling, and they looked so filled with hope and wonder that I was starting to think she had become an anime character. Her mouth was twisted into that famous lop sided grin she had, and her hair was slightly disheveled from where she had been twirling it.

"Whoa." I breathed slightly and then caught myself before anything else could come out of my mouth unexpectedly. "So, uh.." I cleared my throat and continued talking normally "you should probably get a costume, right?" Her face lit up even more, if that was possible and she managed to squeak out "really?!" In the cutest-i mean, most excited-voice ive ever heard. My heart started pounding, my face flushed slightly, and I swear I almost got a nosebleed. It was lucky for me that artemis decided to save me. She stepped in front of me and smiled "Really." She helped (y/n) up and led her out of the room, to the costume ward. Leaving me to bask in my own confusion.

~Your POV~

Artemis was leading you down the hallway and explaining why everyone was so disheartened by the news of the border patrol. "Its quite boring actually" she stated while turning yet another corner "you see, when anyone mentions superman the automatic thought is 'saving people' or 'doing something great' y know?" You nodded in response, its only natural for people with powers to want to help people-or destroy them, but in this case it was saving-but then a thought popped into your head. "Yeah, but really didn't seem that put down. I mean, he actually seemed really excited. His face was even a little red." Artemis laughed slightly and turned to face you "I think that was for a different reason..." you were about to say something else, but you let it drop as you stopped in front of a door.

"Here we are." She stated simply as she pushed open the dark brown door to reveal...a closet? "Sorry its not so grand" she smiled sheepishly. "We don't actually have that many failed costumes. You laughed in response "its okay!!" Stepping into the closet, you realized there were more outfits than met the eye, turning around with a bit of a indeciseve expression you asked "uh-uhm..could you maybe give me a few suggestions...?" Artemis smiled brightly and replied with a "sure!" And an eager clap of the hands "let's get costumed up."

~time simply skip~

After many an outfit tryed on, and failed, you finally decided on one which attenuation helped you pick out. "Perfect." She nodded and you grinned happily, rushing to your room to try it on, and maybe grab a few of your fancy knives... done! You thought happily as you ran out of the room and into the training room yet again. And with 5 minutes to spare!! You cheered silently and walked into the room, to notice really was already there surprise surprise and megan too. "Hey guys!!" You waved happily and walked over to them. Megan waved back and then awwed at your outfit while really simply turned around with a bag of chips in his hand, and proceeded to drop the chips onto the floor.

You twirled a bit, making your braided hair fly around with you. "Do you like?" You questioned. You were wearing form fitting cargo pants (not skinny, theres a difference, form fitting clings to your thighs and goes straightish and baggy twords the ankles*though the baggy part here is shoved into your boot*-the more you know!!) that had a camoflouge color, and plenty of pockets-which held throwing stars that you had bought on ebay, and a granola bar. A black skintight shirt that stopped around the elbow, a slew of bracelets that contained different things-such as knock out gas, detonation devices, and snacks. Instead of a tool belt,on your back was a small back pack that held a few rainbow colored throwing knives, a pair of nunchaku, and snacks. On your feet sat your one and only pair of combat boots, which were black and laced up fully-one concealed your phone, whilst the other held the last rainbow knife. To top it all off you wore a small black beret like hat atop your head, which held more weapons, and could be remotely detonated if you wished it to.

You grinned lopsidedly as megan began clapping and wally smiled widely. "You look great!!" She cooed. "Yeah, and you want to know the best part?" Wally and Megan nodded excitedly as Attenuation and Superboy walked in. "Alright!!" You pressed a small button on the side of your pants and suddenly, you were gone. "WHOA, WHAT." Really screeched and you pressed the button yet again. "Yeah! I got the fancy schmancy camoflouge stuff!" You grinned fully as robin came in. "Whoa." Robin walked over to you "you look like one of those french spies" you laughed "yup. That's what I was going for." He looked at you oddly before shrugging and telling everyone to head towards the ship.

Hey, hey didja miss me?? CUZ I MISSED YOU GUYS!! HI, HOW ARE YOU?? GOOD???? GOOD!!! BE WELL MY FRIENDS. :3 so, yet another suck chap term but you know why?? CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. ITS CRUCIAL. but in the next chapter things are going to get a little more...devious I guess? I don't know how to word it without spoiling anything,ah well. Does anyone even read these things??
