Two a.m., the time where nobody is awake, not even the sun. One kid's feet on the cold hard floor of concrete slowly applying pressure to soften the sound of their footfalls. Once in a standing position, the kid pulled up the covers neatly and placed the hard pillow on top. The bag under the bed was grabbed as the kid opened the window and slid down slowly on the roof. The kid placed their feet on the small grooves in the brick wall of the first floor story and began climbing down. Once they hit the grass the kid dashed across the lawn towards the street.

Two-twenty a.m., still nobody is awake except the kid and some employees working the night shift. The kid wandered around the town looking in garbage cans and around bars, rolling up his sleeves and sticking his arms inside he felt around. There was a treasure there sometimes that paid decently on the playground market. This had taken about three hours to walk to every trash can on the street and bar. The town was pretty small in comparison to every other town in the country but to a kindergartner, it was a long walk. After collecting all he left he was going to get, the boy walked to a local McDonald's and started counting his loot. "Fifty-six, fifty-seven, fifty-eight, fifty-nine, sixty, sixty-one and sixty-two." He pulled out a ziplock bag and carefully stuffed the items inside, they aren't worth too much damaged.

By the time the kid arrived at the small run down building with stains outside the exterior that no one wants to explain, it was around eight a.m. He sat near one of the walls to wait for everyone else to show up, walls don't change, people change, they almost always change for the worst. Somehow, people can always get worse scientifically proven again and again in the school yard.

The sign was stained too, the sign was worn down with faded colors. The sign read "South Synomosia Kindergarten" the kid always wondered if there was a NORTH Synomosia Kindergarten if there was a south one. If there wasn't a NORTH Synomosia Kindergarten, then what was the point of specifying that this was the SOUTH Synomosia Kindergarten? What if there was a North and South Synomosia Kindergarten, was there an EAST and WEST one? The kid kinda gave up on that idea, there wasn't enough children in this town for four kindergartens. The boy once asked if there was a North Synomosia Kindergarten, the staff just waved him off. He was certain that they didn't even listen to the question. He tried to locate NORTH Synomosia Kindergarten, but he couldn't find it, either it was hidden or it didn't exist.

Going over all this speculation had got the boy occupied until half past eight. And Monty finally showed up to the school, the black merchant of the playground. The kid got up and made his way to the ginger, "heya, I don't suppose ya actually want to buy something today?"

The kid shook his head, "Nugget is here to sell."

Monty sighed. He hated buying, while it did give him inventory it didn't make him a dime off of Nugget. "Alright, alright, what'cha got?"

Nugget pulled out his ziplock bag and handed it to the merchant. "There's no need for the Deceiving Monty to count them, there's sixty-two."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not going to trust YOUR counting skills! I will count these myself." So he did at the amount did result in sixty-two. "Good, good. I'll give you forty-five cents for all of it."

"Monty always tries to scam Nugget."

"Me? Scam? I would never!"

"Nugget and Monty agreed on FIFTY CENTS for every TWENTY cigarettes! Nugget is giving you SIXTY-TWO."

"Your point? Fine. Fine. Here's my deal." Monty grabbed Nugget's hand placed two quarters into them.

"Monty still owes Nugget four quarters and one nickel."

"Ya must have done the math wrong, assure ya this is the correct amount."

Nugget looked at his hand and looked up at Monty, "What does Monty take Nugget for? An idiot?"

Monty hesitated long enough for Nugget to grab his cigarettes and walk off, "Nugget could give them for the Hall Monitor for more."

"Wait! Nugget wait! Here, one dollar and five cents, exactly want you wanted! Just take it!"

Nugget turned around and handed back the bag and emptied the contents out, accepting the coins. He never tried to sell the Hall Monitor cigarettes, he didn't even know if he'd actually pay money. As Nugget walked away his with $1.55 Monty called out "Pleasure do'n business with ya!" What a joke.

Morning came and Nugget ran his finger on the small table in his seat. Monty was counting beside him as Jerome sat sideways with two chairs across the room. Jerome made a scene last week about having to sit next to Nugget, so now he sits alone at his table and Nugget gets to be watched like a thief in the making. Cindy was in back flirting with today's boyfriend, Buggs. Nugget isn't entirely sure how Monty gets to walk around with more than three dollars. Kindergarten was pretty boring, nothing was learned and there wasn't even any toys to play with, besides the dollhouse. Not that the dollhouse really mattered, by the time Nugget had been attending, the house was vacant because the dolls moved away. Nugget had made one of those signs that he'd seen on houses that were vacant, a realty sign. He had put on the front of the house, only for Cindy to notice and rip it off.

Lunch was disgusting and lonely, sitting by yourself. Recess wasn't really any better either, besides the fact that Nugget was left alone to dig in the playground sandbox. Then, Show and Tell which was supposed to "build social and listening skills while exploring the different items in our world." Everyone just shows the same items everyday and say the exact same things about it. Things were actually interested in Kindergarten at one point, learning would take place and the teachers would actually have a conversation with Nugget, but that was only when some Administrators would show up to check the classrooms. They stopped visiting six months ago.

Class eventually got out after six painfully dull hours and everyone would go home. Nugget didn't want it to go back yet, so he wandered the streets of the small town not caring how long it took. He kept walking until he was in front of a large building supported by elaborately designed columns. Curious, Nugget started climbing up the steps and looked up at the sign, "Synomosia Public Library."
