Skylar's blood splattered onto the cold floor. His left side had a huge hole in it, and he was coated in his blood. He was surely going to die. Tears flowed down the five-year-old's face. Entity, his best friend and caretaker, did this to him.
Footsteps echoed in the cold, stone room. Sky braced himself for more torturous pain. Instead, he felt the chains loosen around his wrist causing him to fall into his rescuer's arms. The rescuer's embrace was warm, sturdy, and strong. Their heartbeat was fast but constant. The little demon lifted his head up and tried to look through his blurry, darkening vision. His faded golden eyes met with pupiless, white eyes that flowed with power and worry.
"Ssh.." he heard. "Sleep, Skybrine. Daddy's got you." Sky used the last of his strength to snuggle deeper into his father's embrace. "Dad's gonna keep you safe." He heard before the world around him faded to a comforting black.
