I sat there, alone and numb, waiting for her. It was only 15 minutes ago that I had decided all of them weren't going to show up. I didn't mind so much about them not being there it was more so the fact that they just didn't bother to tell me. Soon she will be here. What will I say? The last time this happened nothing was said at all. That's a problem. "So...where were you guys?" I try to say in the least sturn parent voice I can muster. "Oh we had to make a stop at my house so by the time we were done there wasn't any time left." They shrugged. Of course. It's the same excuse. At this point I don't know if it's true or not. I looked away. "Oh" simply oh. What I wanted to say was I don't care what you do I don't care if you don't show but tell me you won't be there so I'm not alone ashamed and a loser waiting for nothing to arrive. But I couldn't. The words were clear in my head and straight from the heart but somehow they got trapped before my tongue could even taste them.
