Scenario 1
(OC) is the champion of (Favorite Region) and Andy is the Sinnoh's champion. They both decided to seek for new Pokémon in some of the first routes, taking one and sorta weak Pokémon, meeting (Crush) on that route, who challenges you to battle. Surprisingly, (Crush) wins, you seem amazed by their strength and decide to travel with (Crush), getting to know them better and helping them during their journey. They weren't aware (OC) is the champion, until it's time for (Crush) to face the champion.

Scenario 2
(OC) was just getting started, they just got their starter and (Crush) chose the strongest starter, challenging you to a battle you won. During the journey, you meet with (Crush) many times, having battles, teaming up and sometimes you just had fun. When you finally get to the Pokémon league, you were surprised to see (Crush) was already the Pokémon champion, you challenge them to a moment to take the title from them.
