i never knew that
words can hurt.
or suffocate.
they sometimes blow you
high in the sky,
sometimes they bury you down
under the ground.
they embrace you
or flatter.
they make you cry
or laugh your head off.
they can cut deeper than
a knife ever could.
they can entertain you more than tickles.
they are so powerful that
people should beware to use.
i've learnt that
you have to learn how to swim through
the words
not to drown under them.
