"You seem to be surprised that it's morning," he chuckled "we are not on mars you know"

"I know it's just that-"

"You had other plans" he interrupted

"No, no it's nothing!" I tried my best to give him no idea of my intentions to escape.

"Wonderful, because I had planned for us to go on a tour for you to view you new environment"

With everything this man said, it reminded me that I was stuck in this hell hole until my brain grew enough senses to figure out a way for me to escape.

"And certainly you weren't planning to wear those dirty rags, so follow me to the dressing room to find some clothes"

"Fine" I sighed scanning my clothe and observing my unclean state.

I lazily got up from where I layed and followed Claiborne to the dressing room. We walked down a long flight of stairs and then through  a long hallway until we reached a room with large cedar doors. He flung open the doors to a beautiful large room with designs made from stained glass with large closets and chest of drawers. I opened the closet  to a vast variety of clothes all from different eras.

"Choose what you like, to look nice today" he said "i'll be outside waiting"

"You wear all these?" I asked in confusion

He didn't look at me. His head turned to the portrait that hung high on the wall to the opposite side of the room.

There was a woman in the portrait, but it wasn't mother. She had long, strawberry blonde hair. She wore a nurse's cap atop her head which suggested she had worked in the medical field. She had ocean blue eyes and a broad face and a bright smile.

His head turned with a different face. The once before no nonsense face had been saddened by what ever he was thinking about.

"They were my late wife Sofia's" He whispered

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," I sympathized "what happened to her? "

"She passed away a few years ago" He said sadly, and I dared not to ask him for details.

"I'll let you get dressed" he sighed and walked out the door

I dug through the variety of clothes in search of some decent clothing. I found a white dress with little blue flowers which lined the openings of the dress. I put it on and completed the look with my favorite pair of vans.

'It's not bad' I thought to myself

I came out of the room.

"What do you think?" I questioned nervously

Again his face was an open book of pages I could not read. His words hesitantly rolled off his tongue. His golden eyes were like wet marbles in their sockets as he gave me an answer.

"Where did you get that?" He whimpered

"I found it in the closet, is something wrong?"

"It was Sofia's, she sported it in her last days"

I could see him struggling to keep a straight face so I hastened to change the subject.

"So are we ready?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact I will get the engine started up"

"You have a car?" I asked excitedly

"Of course, I do"

He led me outside and closed the door on the way out. Due to my previous captivity I hadn't gotten a chance to view the outside. It was strange, very organized and beautiful yet I could tell it isn't always this way.

The car which was parked in the driveway was weird and hideous.

"This is a Senict, the latest model" he said proudly

I was careful with my words. Insulting his car would probably upset him. So I decided to keep my opinions to myself.

I went into the car and waited for him. He started the car and we began driving. While the car drove I was expecting to be greeted by the pleasant scent of fresh gasoline but instead the car smelt as if it ran on burnt chucks of wood. Upon driving I noticed the road was rather empty as he sped along the vacant street, simultaneously giving me a brief tour of the place.

The car stopped suddenly. A very handsome man stood looking sternly at Claiborne. Claiborne got out of the car and started shouting loudly at the man.

"What do you want now, money?" Claiborne shouted furiously

"Look I just want a second chance" the stranger said

"You left me to rot Physidous, that changes nothing,"

"Oh come on, I was a kid!"

"I needed you, I trusted you and you left me."

"You were dangerous! a threat to my innocent little life, I wasn't gonna let you poison my mind with your depressing soul." the man hollered

"I have nothing to offer you Sid, you had your chances, now they're done. The gig is up and we move on with our merry little lives"

I had been watching them argue for a while and the argument seemed to be quite personal.

"Who's the girl?" The man's green eyes fastened to me.

"That is non of your business, now if you will excuse me, I'm busy"

"I'm never gonna stop trying dad"

Claiborne ignored the man, he drove off silently and remained quiet.

'Claiborne has a son? I thought to myself

"Dang it Sid!!" Claiborne shouted, swerving the car to avoid same man who had just jumped in front of the car.

He came out of the car and draped the man and pushed him against the car and pointed threateningly in his face.

"I told you I don't have anything for you!"

The man seemed to be in quite a bit of agony and I couldn't let him get hurt. I had to put an end to whatever this was. I got out of the car and shouted.

"You guys stop this!"
