They say it's good to start a new life.
The only problem? I didn't want to start a new life. The only thing I wanted was to turn around, pack my things and go back to my former house; to my former home.
Go back. It was the only thing I thought about while I walked towards the doors of the school. Supposedly a girl from my class was going to show me the place when I arrived, but there was no one at the entrance.
Keep calm, I thought to myself, maybe she's just a little late.
I entered the school and I found a girl near the door who just kept staring at her phone. I walked towards her and asked her if she was Lila.
"Yeah, what do you want?" she answered a little irritated.
"Uh.. I'm the new girl. You're supposed to show me the school." I said ashamed.
"Oh well here's the school, now don't bother me anymore, would you?" with that she left leaving me there.
The bell rang and everyone started heading to their classes. Not knowing where to go I just started wandering around. After walking around the halls lost in m thoughts, I crashed into a boy who was in his locker and all his things fell to the floor.
"I'm so sorry!!! I didn't mean to." I said while I helped him pick up his stuff.
"Uh... yeah. Whatever" he took his things an left without another word.
What's his problem?
"He's not very sociable" someone said behind me. I turned around and saw a girl leaning against the wall. She was a little taller than me but seemed my age. She wore a silver jacket with a black shirt, which was decorated with a simple but pretty moon, a pair of jeans, and black ankle boots. She had black hair irregularly cut at neck height, and her eyes were an electric blue that was almost irreal. "You must be the new girl. I'm Thalia, lost?"
"To be honest... yes, a little."
Thalia took me to the classroom (we were en the same class) and sat while the teacher asked me to introduce myself.
Great, just what I needed. I just wanted to go unnoticed, not like in my other school. Well there is nothing I can do now.
"Uh.. hi I'm Rachel Wilper, I come from Tokyo and I moved a couple of weeks ago because my mother was offered a job here."
"Thanks Rachel, you can sit in the back" the teacher said while standing up, "Now please open your books so we can start the class"
I walked to the back of the room and sat in the only free place: the one next to Lila.
Oh lucky me, I thought sarcastically.
We just looked at each other and she smiled in a sarcastic-sweet way before looking away. Fortunately I had already seen most of the topics, so I wasn't worried about that. Time passed by and I was so bored that I started thinking about my old home..
Home. That word kept spinning in my mind. I really missed my home, my friends; though they weren't that much to be honest but, who knows? Maybe my mother was right when she decided to fly to the other side of the world. After how she had been getting along with my father... Concentrate Rachel!! That doesn't matter anymore, now you are here and you are not going to spoil your day thinking about that. Better pay attention to the class.
Uhhh this is going to be a looooong year...
