*im so gay for Bev and if you're reading this u r too. So Let's just take a moment to thank Sophia Lillis for being so gd beautiful*--
I, Y/n L/n, am one of the biggest freaks of the century. I dressed strange and acted the part too, with my constant mood-changes to my really abnormal choice of clothing. That's why almost every day I get told, "You would be so hot if you weren't such a loser/weirdo".
I had partially agreed with what those people said. I mean I was pretty and all, but just very, very peculiar. The only people who disagreed were my seven friends, Beverly, Richie, Eddie, Stan, Bill, Mike, and Ben, who were always there to defend me. We had each other's backs through everything, we'd promise to at least. Sadly, it was getting close to the end of summer break, then we were all off to college. I knew in college we would all separate, except for Richie and I. Since we were going to the same college, but we would be majoring in different things so we still wouldn't be that close to each other.
That's why we tried to cram in as much time together as we could, except for today which was a resting day for all of us to do our own thing. Finally that is how I got to where I am now, sitting on my couch, stuffing my face with popcorn and rewatching Ferris Bueller's Day Off for the 50th time. Trying to distract myself from my thoughts about college.
At exactly 1:32, which was 1 hour and 27 minutes into the movie, my house phone rang, which was particularly strange for me because my parents weren't home and nobody ever calls me, especially not this late.
I get up from my comfy, cushioned seat and speed walk towards my house phone. I didn't know who I expected it to be and why I was walking in such an eagerly pace, but I just had a feeling. A feeling that it was something important from somebody important. I take the phone off the hook and press it to my ear.
"Y-Y/n?" A scared and wobbly voice says through the phone.
"Yeah? Who is it?" I smile, in a sing song voice, trying to calm the person.
"It's Beverly-"
"What happened, Bev? Why are you calling me so late." Beverly Marsh was my best friend, us being the only two girls in our friend group we had a strong bond since the beginning. She said that today she was going to hang out with one of her other friends, which probably didn't go well if she's calling me now.
"Can you please just come pick me up? I'm on the pay phone where West Broadway and Witcham Street meet."
"Alright, alright. I'm comi-" My sentence was stopped by the sound of my phone beeping, indicating that Beverly had hung up. I put the phone back and ran towards my bathroom. I stared at myself in the mirror, making sure I looked somewhat presentable, I took my hair out of my messy (bun/ponytail/pigtails) and shook my head until my hair fell perfectly in place. I speed walked towards my bedroom and grabbed my gray North Face Light Gtx jacket.
I pulled the jacket over my black tank top, fixed my flannel pajama pants, grabbed my car keys, and walked out into the starry night. I then jogged towards my car and hopped inside, protecting myself from the harsh winds outside. I then drove off to help Beverly Marsh, my favorite redhead.
I pull over when I see Bev. I beam up at the girl and unlock my car door. "Hop in!"
Without saying a word Beverly opens the car door and gets in. She avoids looking directly at me and stares straight out the window.
I knew Beverly, and I knew she was hiding something. I start the car up. "Beverly, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." She definitely wasn't fine, but I didn't want to push her, so I let it go. We began driving, I wasn't sure if I was driving Beverly home or she was spending the night at my house. However it didn't matter, because when we were 3 minutes into the drive, my car stopped.
