We were still in the coffee shop. I was waiting for what she was going to say since that was the only reason I am with her today.

"So..."

But she did not finished her sentence. Instead, she took a sip from her creamy coffee and looked away from me. I was curious as to why is she acting like this, to me, right now. She never acted this way before, with me. She was always smiling and would say a hello.

"What?" I spoke so that no more time would be wasted. I still need to go back to finish some things.

Finally, she looked at me straight in the eyes but immediately looked down and let out a breath. She never looked at people in the eyes. It seems, for her, the ground is much more interesting to look at than the people she is with. Nevertheless, she has her attention to you.

"I need to tell you something important."

Okay. Just like what I expected. People only talk to me when they need something from me. I am both fine and tired with that. I wonder what is it this time?

She raised her head and looked at me again. She seemed nervous. Her ears are slowly turning red. And her eyes seemed excited but...

"Please close your eyes."

I did as I was told. I just want this to get it over with.
I heard the tiny noises of her chair moving. I smell her perfume getting stronger. I can feel her hair in my arms. And i get a tingling sensation in my ear coming from her breathing.

"I like you." She whispered in my ear as if whispering it directly to my heart. Surprised, I immediately opened my eyes and saw her going back to her seat and breathing hard, as if choked by the words she had said.

I'm confused as to why. And I'm extremely curious why me.
She blinked once, she blinked twice, she blinked more than necessary. She sipped her coffee again and put her hands on her lap. She looked at me again and smiled. But my eyes spoke the opposite of it. I looked at her for the last time.

"I'm sorry."
