Chapter 2

Dad was driving me to Marching Band after dance, I'm always an hour late on Thursdays because of my art class. Dad was hurrying a lot more today.
"I am not letting you be even later than you already are. 7 o'clock was when you were supposed to join rehearsal it's 7:10." he should not worry while driving. "its fine dad, calm down." he needs to focus on the road, not the clock.

Then the accident happened.

"The dad's good. the girl's strapped in, we better get going. Wife'll meet them at the hospital." the medics said. then we went off to Genesis hospital. They said dad was fine, but They strapped me in, is that bad?

•Katherine Bertthold's Point of View•

I was making dinner when I got the call. I almost had a heart attack when they told me. Jeff's supposed to be fine but they aren't sure about Macy I have to call Mr. Wilga and tell him, this definitely won't go well. "Hello?" Alex Wilga says. "hello, this is Katherine Bertthold, Macy Bertthold's mother." I replied. "Macy hasn't came to rehearsal yet, where is she?" I heard everything get quiet when he asked where she was. I explained what happened and told him I would email him when i heard more. I wish the doctor would come tell me he news and I hope it's good.
"Excuse me, mrs. Bertthold? I have the synopsis on your daughter. She was bleeding into her brain and our best surgeon did the surgery but she went into a coma. I'm sorry."

•Macy's Point Of View•

Excuse me, you did not just say that. Your kidding right? a week before Nationals, I go into a coma from a car crash? this is so unfair. I want to go to Nationals with everyone, I want my friends. why aren't they here yet? oh, right, they get to be at marching band while I'm in a coma.

•Anna's Point of View•

Mr. Wilga told us what happened to Macy. I can't believe it, she's in a coma. what'll we do?

"Anna, are you gonna go see her?" Gavin asked. of course I'm gonna see her, she's my best friend! But should I tell him that? "Maybe, but her mom'll be watching who goes to see her." that's all I'm gonna tell him. Landon looks pissed at Gavin, wonder why? "Don't get attached to her Gavin, she's in a coma. She's not even alive." I'm going to smack Landon if he doesn't shut up.

•Gavin's Point of View•

So, i'm still in a coma, in the hospital. My mom has changed the channel about 3 times now. I want her to turn the TV off and go away. I'm alone, I don't need someone here making me feel even more lonely.
"I'm going to go sit outside your room and see who's here to see you." and she left. Yay! Actual people!

"Hey Macy," Anna said after she sat down next to my bed. "Macy, how's it going? Marching Band went well, until Wilga told us what happened. you haven't missed much in school. Macy, after we found out about your accident, everyone changed. even people that don't know you looked different." she went on about that stuff for awhile. I felt like my mom was in the room.

•Gavin's Point of View•

At school, I asked Anna which room Macy was in at the hospital and thankfully I didn't have to explain why. So now, I'm going to see her.

"Excuse me, are you Macy's mom?" I asked the lady sitting outside Macy's room. "Yes I am, and who are you?" She asked, definitely her mom.
"I'm Gavin Lancaster, one of Macy's friends." I hope she doesn't doubt our "friendship".
"Well, fine. go on in to see her."
Yes!! I'm in!

I walked in, and the first thing I saw Macy lying there on the hospital bed with tubes and cords and other things attached to her. she still looks pretty, and I sit down in the chair next to the bed.
"Hey Macy, it's Gavin. I don't know if you can hear me or anything. I asked Anna where your room was and stuff. I was planning on telling you my answer at marching band but then, well, you know? But I want to tell you the answer even if you can't hear me. I want to go out with you; yes.

• Macy's Point of View•

He said yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! But we can't be together, because of this coma! This is so unfair! My crush of...forever! says yes but it'll never happen because I'm in a coma, worst moment ever.

•2 Months Later•

"I can't believe I've been dating Gavin for 2 months! And I'll be released from this hospital in a week or two! Then Gavin and I will finally go on a real date!
