The main door opens and out of impulse I rush to the darker other wall beside the door and throw my back to the wall, hoping that if I stay still they wouldn't notice me. What I didn't realize was that there was a dark shadow that's pitch black created that extends from the corner I'm in right now to the main entrance with the corner in between the two places being big and pitch black.
I fully grasp this knowledge when the men entered and didn't notice me. There were five men this time. I try taking a step to the left to get more shadow to cover me but one of the men noticed the noise and started staring at my direction. Fuck! He found me!
"What's wrong, Jim?" one of the men asks the man staring at my direction.
"Nothing... I just thought I heard something" Jim replies.
Suddenly thunder struck outside, making a loud noise.
"Maybe it's just because of the rain" another man states.
Jim just nods as a reply. Thank god! I thought I was a goner! But I got to move I can't hope for the shadow to protect me forever. At least I have to go a bit to the left to get to the big shadow area in the corner.
Suddenly, another thunder bolt struck making a louder noise and on instinct I took a step to the left. They didn't notice and just continued talking. This is a long shot, but if I take a step in accordance with the thunder sound, I might be able to make it to the corner. Another thunder struck and I took a step, then another, then another. At the fifth step a man looked at my direction. My heart is about to stop.
"Man! It's really coming hard tonight, ain't it?" the man said while changing his direction to the sky. Thank goodness. I'm still safe.
I follow this strategy for what feels like forever until I finally reached the black corner. Now I'm a little safer. The men are now heading to the room where the kids were. It's my chance to head to the main door and get out of this hell hole!
I follow this strategy with this wall, one step at a time, but now the shadow is becoming thinner and the thunder lightning is more visible now through the glass roof, but it's good that they're giving me they're backs right now. They get inside the room, leaving the door open, while I'm still keeping up this strategy.
"Where the fuck are the kids!" one of the men shouts all of a sudden which startled me and made me take an earlier step. One of the men, Jim, looks at my direction. He heard me. It's okay; I'm protected by the shadow, he can't see me just like before. Suddenly, a thunder strikes which almost blinds me. I take a look at the man, his eyes are pinned right at mine. Fuck! He sees me! I'm fucked!
I run for the main door which isn't far away from me now but my leg is slowing me down.
"Hey guys! I found a kid!" The man shouts as he is running towards me. He's still far so I can get out before he can catch me. I still have hope, I can do it. Just a little more. I pull the door open and see the outside raining. I'm free! Bang...
This is weird; I can't move my body; it feels heavy and breathing is harder all of a sudden. I put my hand on my chest and then I lift it to see it. Why is there so much blood? I'm free, right? I should be able to go... right?
I try to walk barely keeping my balance to stand and fall on my back as an outcome. I can't move. Oh God it hurts! I want to scream from the pain but I can't; I'm coughing up too much blood to be able to scream. I'm suffocating! Someone please help me! Anyone!
Now I see the men gathering around me. I'm beginning to feel numb. I can barely hear what they're saying
"We obviously can't sell this one now" one of the men was saying
