• Marie's POV •
I can't help being as confused about how I feel about Jack. He is a major asshole but his smile made me melt a little inside. He's a well-known oplayer and I'm not putting myself in any position to get hurt. I need to talk about this with someone.. There's only one person I talk about boys with and that's Natalie.

It was after school and I was racing around the school looking for Natalie because this conversation cannot wait any longer. I couldn't focus on anything.

Finally, I saw her walking towards her car with her headphones in. I sprinted to her and jumped in front of her as she opened her car door.

"Oh, hey Marie." she said taking her headphones out of her ears and putting them up.

"Hey Nat, I need to talk to you about something I cannot stop thinking about.." I said looking about making sure no one could hear me.

"What is it?" she asked very confused-like.

"A boy..." I said biting my lip,

"Oh my god! Who?!" she exclaimed.

"Let's go to Wendy's and I'll tell you all about it." I suggested.

"Okay, meet you there" Natalie said getting into her car.

I walked towards my car, anxiously waiting to get all this Jack mess off my chest.

After a short drive, we both pull up into the Wendy's parking lot and walk inside together. I order my favorite, chiclet nuggets. She orders her meal and we go and sit down to talk.

"Okay, so who's the boy?" Natalie asked while putting a fry in her mouth.

"Man.. you're not going to believe this at all.." I said staring at my food.

"C'mon Marie."

"Okay.. do you Jack Gilinsky?" I asked her nervously.

"Oh my god Marie. You like Jack?!" she yelled so loud I'm sure the whole restaurant heard.

"Natalie!" I got onto her for yelling.

"I'm sorry," she said lowering her voice, "but I never would've guessed you like the school badboy, Jack Gilinsky."

"I wouldn't either.. He was flirting with me in 1st period and we sit next to each other. But I was ice cold to him and was extremely rude. You know why too." I said taking a sip of my drink.

"Yeah.. do you think you're gonna let him in?" she asked looking me straight in my eye.

"I don't know, Nat. Like, he's known for hurting girls and I can't get hurt anymore. So, I'll just keep everything lowkey." I planned.

We discussed a little more about ten topic and then made plans for the mall over the weekend. Man, I love talking Natalie. I couldn't ever talk to anyone else about this kind of stuff.

"Ugh shit." Natalie said as she looked down at a message on her phone.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"My parents are fighting and my mom said I need to get a bag because me and her and staying in a hotel. Great." she answered rolling her and grabbing her trash to throw away.

"Just ask if you can stay the night at my apartment." I suggested

"Is that cool with you?"

"Of course. I'll go with you so you can get your stuff."

"Thanks Marie. Alright, let's go."

We threw our trash away and left. Jack was still on my mind.
