Monday was quite rainy, Vale liked rainy days but it poured and poured not stopping. It was difficult to get from her car to the office without getting soaking wet, luckily she found an umbrella she left in the back seat about 2 months ago. It rained the whole February so she kept an umbrella in her car. She didn't remember she left it there up until now.

The office was on the 3rd floor of a tall glass building with about 20 floors. It was a 30 minute drive from her home if there wasn't any traffic and there's always traffic in New York city, so it took her an hour to get to work. She was still on time. When she got out of the elevator Mrs. Oztemur, her superior, was standing in the corridor. She wore a white blouse with flowers embroidered into her sleeves, jeans and red bottoms. She also had makeup on, nothing too outstanding, she clearly went for a more natural look.

„Good morning, Mrs. Oztemur" Vale said as she took out her keys from her purse. She was dressed more formal than Mrs. Oztemur who went for what she'd normally wear out. Vale had the business casual look to her, wearing a navy blue women's suit with white heels and a black Michael Kors purse that Thomas bought her for their 2 year anniversary last year.

„Oh, Vale, just call me Laura, I told you 'Mrs. Oztemur' is way too formal for me" Laura said. Vale felt a bit weird being so friendly with her superior but Laura was friendly to everyone. Even though Vale was only two years younger than her, Laura was still a very respectable person that Vale admired.

„Sorry, it's a bad habit " Vale replied smiling gently at Laura who smiled back.

„That's quite alright. By the way I'll have to leave early today, I have plans with my husband. Would you mind helping Amelia for me? Since I won't be able to be here for her today" Laura asked, Vale gets that Laura's concerned for Amelia. With the amount of work they have to do this week it's essential everything is done correctly.

„Of course, you can count on me" Vale said, she was meaning to help Amelia anyway, so it wasn't a problem for her at all.

„You're a sweetheart, thank you" Laura said warmly. Her Irish accent was very nice to listen to, it was soothing in a way.

„No problem " Vale then went to the office, putting her purse on the table and sitting down. She turned on the computer and started working. She works as an office assistant, making appointments, filling out paperwork or making calls from time to time. She assists mainly Laura or her other superior miss Sophia Jones. She likes this type of a cozy office job, mainly when they aren't in a rush.

About two hours after she started working Amelia came to ask her for help. She had a rather worried look on her face.

„Hey, Vale, you know how I was supposed to make an appointment for the special host? Well, turns out he doesn't speak English so I need help" Amelia said.

„What language does he speak? " Vale asked, turning all her attention to Amelia.

„Spanish" Amelia replied.

„Okay, send me his phone number and I'll take care of it " Vale said. Growing up in Mexico, she only ever spoke Spanish to her relatives.

„Thank you so much, I owe you a lot" Amelia seemed relieved.

„Bring me a good strong coffee and we're even " Vale said smiling.

„I'm on it"

Amelia sent Vale the number via email and brought her coffee. It was just what she needed. She dialled the number and waited for someone to pick up.

„Buenos días. " Vale said after a man picked up.

She made the appointment and explained why the other assistant couldn't. All was well afterwards. Vale then went back to doing her work until her lunch break at 11:30 when she went to get lunch with Amelia. They went to a restaurant next to the office building as they usually do. The place was full of people but they managed to get a table. Vale ordered a chicken salad with some grissini and Amelia a chicken sandwich with fries.
