Tuesday was a normal day. Nothing really happened although it went slowly, one minute felt as long as a 100 years. Vale just did her work, went home, had dinner with Thomas and went to sleep. Wednesday wasn't any better and neither was Thursday. It wasn't usual that the week felt as if it was in slow motion. Cath was surely busy so Vale rather didn't bother her any of these days.
On Friday Vale was home, as always. She was watching a movie when the bell rang. She got up and went to see who was interrupting her this morning.

At her door stood Lea, she had a rather painful expression which in her case wasn't normal.

„Vale" Lea said, inviting herself in. Vale didn't mind.

„What's up? " Vale asked.

Lea took a deep breath, her face looked more normal now. After a few seconds she said: „ I kinda really fucked things up with Jake and I think I need a hug"

„Oh, no. Come here. What happened? " Vale couldn't help but ask this question. She was simply curious. Vale held Lea tightly for a few minutes and then they went inside.

„We got into this stupid argument and he left. He's not answering the phone or anything and it's been 3 hours. I'm worried sick" She was crying now. They were facing each other, Lea held a pillow sitting in a crouched position on the couch.

„It's surely gonna be okay " Vale took a napkin and leaned forward to wipe the tears off Lea's face. Lea sighed and took a napkin herself to blow her nose.

„Maybe" She replied. Vale never saw Lea in this state and they have been friends since 6th grade, she just wasn't the type to let emotions get a hold of her. She must care for Jake really much mixed with the regret and the fear of losing him.

„It will. How about I try calling him? " Lea nodded and proceeded to lay her head on Vale's lap when she sat down next to her. Vale gently stroke Lea's hair and searched for Jake's number in her contacts, she then hit call.

„Hello?" Jake said, picking up the phone about 10 seconds of ringing. Vale put the phone on speaker.

„Hey, Jake"

„Vale? Whag do you need? " Jake asked, rather surprised Vale was calling him.

„Where are you right now?"  Lea was listening close, not saying a word. She was as quiet as Vale has ever seen her,  as if she was afraid to even breathe.

„I just got home, why?" Lea looked relieved, her eyes were no longer teary and her expression was calm.

„Just asking. I, um.. " Vale glanced at Lea who mouthed the word 'lie'. So she did.

„My back is really stiff and I feel some slight pain in my lower back. Could I make an appointment?" Vale's back was fine but she could use a massage anyway. It was Jake's job, which she heard about from Lea a lot so it was the first thing to come up.

„Of course, how about Friday 3 pm?" He asked. Vale could hear taking some paper and writing something down.

„That works for me. Thanks a lot" Lea gave her a thumbs up and got up.

„No problem. See you then" Jake said.

„Byee" she replied and hung up.

Lea left shortly after, to go home and talk things out. She thanked Vale and went to her car.
