(Major swear warning)
Marty's P.O.V.
I can't believe Abigail said that to her! Oh when I see her I'm gonna...oh forget it. Besides, Sarah told me not to confront her. I should get ready for school now. Don't wanna keep my Marcus waiting.
Hopping out of bed, I jogged towards my bathroom. Well, that was until I heard a knock downstairs, making me stop. Wonder who that could be. Stepping out of my room, I saw Marcus letting himself in. He's always coming early to check on me.
Leaning over the railing, I cleared my throat, making him look up. "Good morning to you too sweetheart." I greeted him. "I was just making sure you didn't oversleep." he said, walking up the stairs. I felt him hug me from behind, making me giggle. "You need to put Abigail in her place." I said in frustration.
I felt him tense up in what I could only assume was anger. "Did she hurt Sarah?" he asked. "Yeah. I found her in the hallway crying. Said Abigail was being nice to her then just snatched her up and said she was gonna make her life more of a living hell." I explained. He let go of me and cracked his knuckles. I suddenly got scared of what me might do.
"Marcus don't hit her!" I exclaimed. "I won't...just gonna scare her a little." he said. "But...isn't that what you said last time?" I asked. Marcus glared at me, making me look down. I hate when he gets like this.
I walked past him and back into my room, closing the door. Trotting into my bathroom, I grabbed my toothbrush. I began brushing my teeth, slower than I normally would, but I was too upset. After rinsing my mouth out and washing my face, I walked out of the bathroom to see an outfit and my deodorant on my bed. There was also a note on top of the outfit.
I picked up the note and read it. The note read: 'Sorry for glaring at you like that, Abigail just pissed me off. Hope this is the outfit you wanted and I know you hate smelling bad, so I left your deodorant. And I got you hair now with me downstairs. - Love, Marcus'. I couldn't help but smile at the note. I can never stay mad at him for to long.
I quickly got dressed and ran downstairs, looking for Marcus. Seeing him in the kitchen, I ran towards him, pulling him into a hug. "I guess someone saw my note." Marcus said, chuckling while putting my hair into a bun. "That's not fair, you're not supposed to make me happy!" I exclaimed, looking up at him. A peck on my forehead quickly made me shut up.
___________________________________________The drive to school was calm and quiet. Normally, I'd talk up a storm, but being close to Marcus was enough to keep me happy for today. Getting out of the truck, I wave goodbye to Marcus and jog up to Emma. She's so quiet I almost didn't see her. If only I could blend into a crowd like that.
Emma glanced over at me and smiled. "You really love Marcus don't you?" she asked. "Of course! Sucks that I'm a freshman though." I said in a sad tone. "Don't worry, I love Abigail and she's a senior." Emma said, making me scoff. Emma looked down before looking over at me.
"Abigail is a good person I swear. She's just hurt and never really had anyone to comfort her." Emma said in defense. "So she bullies Sarah?" I asked in irritation. "It's her coping mechanism. Trust me it's a slow process but I'm working with her." she explained. I rolled my eyes as I walked into the classroom. Coping mechanism my ass.
"So she can be nice to Sarah, then snatch her up in the hallway?" I asked, sitting in my desk. Emma looked surprised. "When did that happen?" she asked in concern. "Yesterday. Came across Sarah crying her eyes out in the hallway...because of Abigail." I explained. Emma gave me a look of guilt.
"I...didn't know..." she said quietly. "Well, Marcus is gonna take care of her." I said, leaning back. Emma looked panicked as if she had seen a ghost. "Why would you tell him?" she asked in a worried tone. "Because you obviously aren't good at keeping her in check." I said, getting loud.
Emma looked hurt and like she was about to cry before running out of the classroom. Everyone looked back at me, making me shrug my shoulders. "The gay guy's at it again." one of my classmates said, snickering. "And the dumb jock still hasn't found a dumb cheerleader." I fired back, making everyone gasp. Emma's just gonna have to grow up and accept the fact that Abigail can't be saved.
___________________________________________She eventually came back to class all puffy eyed. She sat down and turned her back to me, like I cared. "Okay guys, don't forget tomorrow is Wednesday so you can wear your favorite person shirt!" the teacher exclaimed. Favorite person shirt eh? Of course mine is gonna be Marcus.
(Okay, so my idea of favorite person shirt day is that they all put the name of their favorite person on any kind of shirt or even get it made. This day is for Wednesdays and Fridays only. Back to the story!)
Just then I felt my phone vibrate. Taking it out, I saw a message from Sarah. The text read:
Sarah - Why would you say that to Emma?! See me tomorrow after school.
I scoffed at the text. Who does she think she is, my mom?
I responded back.
Marty - You do realize Marcus picks me up right?
Another buzz.
Sarah - He can wait.
I swear to God...
Marty - He's in on this too. He already said he was gonna take care of Abigail.
I smirked. That'll show her. Two buzzes followed.
Sarah - You told him?! Why the fuck do you always run your mouth Marty?! This is why I don't fucking tell you anything!
Sarah - I fucking hate you!
That last text made my smirk disappear. She doesn't mean that. She's just upset. She'll forgive me. She'll apologize...right?Word Count: 1051
