when she got to the park, ryan instantly went to the skate park. she brought her board and escalated to the ramps. ryan likes going really fast to the point where she feels like she's soaring to the skies. the carefree moments..
after a few minutes of doing tricks, she took a seat on one of the big ramps and drank her bottle of water. suddenly a guy came up to her. he had shaggy dark brown hair, a fair skin tone and a nice, comfortable style. he sat next to her silently. ryan wasn't uncomfortable, so she just started talking to him.
"what up." ryan greeted.
"what's good." the boy replied. "i guess i'm not the only one who likes skating around at 11 in the morning."
"i got nothing else to do that i'm actually fond of, so why not."
"you're chill. what's your name?"
"ryan."
"ryan?"
"yeah."
"oh. well my name's matt." he took his hand out so she can shake it but instead she dapped him up. he didn't really care.
"you know, i've only seen you a few times. you live around here?" matt asked.
"yeah. right around the corner."
"nice."
they sat silently for a few seconds. they'd glance at each other a few times but never talked.
"so... what did you like listening to?" matt asked.
"underground rap, alternative hip hip, all that other shit." ryan responded.
"cool. you should definitely listen to brockhampton then."
"bro i deadass had some guy dm me on instagram talking about that group."
"that's crazy. i guess everyone likes us that much."
"us? are you apart of this group?"
"yeah." matt chuckled.
"wow. so is the music y'all make that good?"
"hell yeah."
"what do you guys even do?"
"well see i'm 1/5 of the rappers in our group. we have rappers, singers, producers and all that other stuff. it's 13 of us and we're all members no matter if you got musical talent or not."
"that's kind of you guys to consider all them members."
"i mean, they do matter."
"wanna skate?"
"sure."
they got up from that big ramp and started skateboarding again. they did that for a few hours until ryan asked, "what time is it?"
"it's 2:40. why?" matt asked.
"ah it's not much. i just have to meet up with someone in a few. it was nice talking to you, matt. adios."
"bye, ryan."
they waved at each other then went their separate ways. ryan got back on her skateboard and rode all the way to in-n-out. she got inside and sat at a table waiting for this romil guy to come.
it wasn't even five minutes when she came in there and all of a sudden she hears this man being loud as shit for no reason. she got confused because she could've sworn that man was calling her name. he kept yelling in people's faces asking them something. then the man came up to her and asked, "are you ryan?"
"yes i am." she replied.
"oh phew. you better be glad i only asked a few people instead of going on a whole rampage just to find a person." he laughed.
"bro you just came in like a crackhead asking for cocaine."
"oh so you really are a funny one, aren't you?"
"yep."
"well hi! i'm romil."
"oh you're romil?"
"uh huh."
romil had tan skin, shaggy jet black hair, bushy eyebrows, a style similar to matt's, and he had an authentic smile on his face.
"do you mind if i sit?" romil asked.
"nah, i don't mind." ryan replied.
romil took a seat and said, "did you listen to brockhampton yet?"
"damn you want me to listen so bad." she laughed a bit. "fine. imma go on apple music and search them up."
"aight. go for their album ginger."
"okay..." she went on her phone and searched for ginger. "which song?"
"surprise me."
they both shared a laugh.
"alright. let me put on... boy bye."
"woahhh! good choice. play it."
ryan did what romil said and started playing the song. she liked the beat a little and was bopping her head.
when the song finished, ryan started off by saying, "yoooo that shit was fire! i like it. i think i might like these people."
"oh really?" romil asked. "i so happen to know these people."
"personally?"
"yes, personally. i'm one of the producers." he smiled.
"you're lying!" she was stoked.
"no i'm deadass about this. i actually help out."
"that's crazy."
"you must be that excited, huh?"
"yeah. that's sick. you guys are cool. let me listen to more of you guys' music."
romil playfully smirked. "well... how about instead of JUST listening to our music, you can see the whole crew?"
"what?? you for real? i don't even know y'all like that but damn... i'm considering it."
"oh come on."
"ah..."
"i got it. listen to more of our music and see if we're good enough to meet."
"aight." ryan scrolled down a bit on her phone and saw three albums with the same name... saturation.
"what's this?" she asked.
"the best trilogy to exist." romil laughed. "choose your pick."
"i say... saturation 2."
"ah i see. now choose a song..."
"aight. i choose... gummy!"
"go for it, sis."
ryan put on gummy and it turns out she liked it. she loved it. the song gave her badass, i don't give a fuck type of vibes. it reminds her of what she's striving to be.
"NOW are we good enough to meet?" romil inquired.
"ah... sure. i'm not easy to fool but aight."
"cool. let's go. i'll drive."
"okay. we out."
they both headed out the restaurant. romil was jogging to his car and ryan was walking while carrying her skateboard. when they got to his car, romil was in the driver's seat as ryan was putting her board in the back and then proceeded to hop in the passenger seat. romil started the engine and they drove to the boys' house.
