Candy hearts

The day was easy going, sun shining from an almost clear sky, a light soft breeze drifting over the land...

Or at least that's what it was like in the movie. In the real world it was raining, no ! It was storming ! And living at the top of a mountain, the storm was worse up here.

The Monastery of Spinjitzu was the home of Sensei Wu and his currently two students, Sal Legan and Cole Brookstone. Tho they weren't training for the same thing. While Cole was there to become a ninja, Sal was a magician, learning dragon magic. Not that any of that matter right now.

Since it was storming outside the three people stayed inside, Wu was meditating in his so called 'zen' room and the two youngsters was splashed across the couch in the so called 'living room'

Cole was halfway-on halfway-off the couch, his shoulders and head resting against the low of the backrest, while his legs was holding up some of his weight, being the only thing that kept him from landing flat on his ass on the cold floor.

Sal was resting her head at the armrest the rest of her body laing across the couch, including her legs lying on Coles stomac, not that any of them cared.

Both dresses in relaxed clothes, Cole in a jogging set and Sal in a big shirt and a pair of thin leggins.

The tv was playing some movie in the background but both had stopped watching it 10 minutes ago. Cole out of boredom had begun reading out loud what little messages that was printed on the candy hearts he was eating, to great annoyance for Sal. Sure the candy tasted good, in lack of anything better, which they were...

But those small message was bullshit if you asked the young female, her opinion however never stopped the to-be-earth-master from reading them.

" Sweetheart " His voice called out smooth with a weak smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, Sal just groaned.

" Are you taking to the candy or me ? "

" I'm shy " He turned his head to the right looking at Sal as she sighed and closed her eyes.

" Like hell you are " She responded and nuzzled into a pillow with a huff.

" Great guy "

" That you are, I'll give you that "

Coles smile widened as he popped the sugar pice into his mouth and took the next one.

" Dream girl "

Now it was Sal's turn to smile however as she picked up the blanket she had pushed on the floor nearly an hour ago. A confident smile was on her lips as she winked at him.

" Oh I know I am "

" Real love "

That one he dragged the words out, rolling on the R in real and O in love, knowing how she was gonna react the those exact two words. He found it funny, these small sugar things only had those sweet words printed on them for fun. Yet the words seemed to wake real emotions in people's mind. Tho Sal didn't react like you would expect.

Sitting up with the blanket curled around her, her pretty blue-green eyes harden and slightly narrowed as she pointed a threatening finger at the tiny piece of candy in his hands.

" That is fake as hell. Don't believe everything you read !"

Cole merely chuckled as he pulled the last sugar heart out. She always reacted like this to those exact words, tho he didn't know why. Was it for the fun in it ? Just an act ? Or had she really got her heart broken by someone she had thought to be the right one ? Had 'Real love' become a fake object to her ?

And if so... who had done it ? And how could he get his hands on them ? Because he would beat them into a boneless dough, only to serve them to her as a cake of triumph, showing that he was so much better.

" Beefcake ! "

" Huh ? What ? "
He snapped out of his thoughts when a foot was pushed into his side, slightly tickling him,

" What does the last one say ?"

He couldn't help but smile, she was listening after all. So with a small warm feeling developing in his chest he looked at the last sugar heart in his hands, and his smile only grew.

" Why don't you have it ? " He asked and held the small thing out to her, slender fingers brushed against his own as she took it from him. Cole at the same time had pushed himself up and was now pushing himself between her and the backrest of the couch. Sal wasn't bother by it, this happened often. He wouldn't admit it but Cole had proved himself to be one heck of a cuddle bear, and he didn't waste a single chance that was presented to him and this was no different.

So with his arms around her and some of the blanket over him Cole let out a deep sigh, relaxing despite the amount of sugar he had consumed.

Sal glared at the small pink heart with red letters in her had,

" Want me to read it out loud or just keep it to myself ? "

" Read it out loud, tell me what does it say ?"

Cole mumbled as he slowly pulled her down beside him. He knew what it said, he just wanted her to say it out loud, hoping it would spark the trust and believe you had to put into things if it really had to work.

" Be my love "
