The way he described west Hollywood echoed through her mind, it resonated with her spiritually, snapping out of her thoughts for what felt like eternity, she finally spat out a response,
"Y-yeah sure. You drive?"
A low chuckle could be heard from him,
"Of course I do. Let's get go"
Not giving much wiggle room for an objection, Amber followed the lanky man to his beat up Cadillac in a dingy parking garage. Getting into the rust bucket, she strapped herself in. Cigarette butts and cassette tapes littered the dashboard and floor, a smell that can only be described as death in a can emanated from the seats.
Unidentifiable stains were deep rooted into the leather seats, and empty bottles of what seemed to be absinthe and vodka were piled in the back.
"Where are we going?"
Settling into the seat and trying to warm her hands despite the cold, bitter air nipping at her numb fingers, she snuck a look at Richard, who's eyes were plastered on the road,
"Consider this a getaway of some sort"

Pulling up to the Cecil Hotel's parking lot, he took the keys out of the car's ignition, and promptly exited the car, expecting Amber to follow. Standing on the passenger side of the car, Richard impatiently waited for Amber to gather her belongings and step out. Once she did so, he firmly grasped her by the shoulder, escorting her through the reception area, up the elevator, and into his room,
"Did you take your oath seriously?"
Eyes shifting around, Amber nervously picked at the loose strings of the hem of her shirt, trying to avoid the question altogether. Abruptly raising his voice, Richard's words boomed throughout the walls,
