Wild & Free

There once was a doggie
He ran wild and free
We carved his name
Into his tree

He was born to a kelpie
Raised to herd sheep
But something wasn't right
He was too hard to keep

No one would buy him
He was too small
No one would take him
No one at all

His owners will drown him
A worthless dog
Was this the end
Of this ex-sheepdog

Tell me he's crazy
Tell me he's stupid
But I don't care

He may be lazy
He may be silly
But we love them both

It doesn't matter
What they are
We love them both

But along came two humans
One quite small
Pointed to him and his brother
We'll take them both

Thus began his life
As Sparky
Running around
Our Property

They lived alone
Not another dog
He was careful
Even in the fog

For fourteen long years
He lived happily
But one day he died
Quite suddenly

Tell me he's crazy
Tell me he's stupid
But I don't care

He may be lazy
He may be silly
But we love them both

It doesn't matter
What they are
We love them
We love them
We love them both

There once was a doggie
He ran wild and free
We carved his name
Into his tree
