Kayley
The next morning Abigail woke me up at around 8 from what it said on the ticking circle on the wall. "We have to go to school, hurry up!"
"School? What's that?" I asked, still half asleep.
"The place we go to learn new things like our history, or math."
"Math?"
"The study of numbers."
"Oh." A few minutes later, I was wearing some jeans and I picked out the longest shirt to wear. Abigail gave me a colorful bag with straps that she placed on my shoulders.
"Take this you'll need it," was all she said. I followed Abigail outside to find Mark and Robert waiting for us. We walked to "school" and it took as about 5 minutes. School was one of the biggest buildings I've seen. Inside, Abigail led me through a series of confusing hallways until we reached a door that said "Office."
When Abigail knocked on the door, a high - pitched voice called out, "come in!" Inside was a room filled with tables that had piles of papers. There was one lady in there sitting in front of a small version of the box with moving people inside them. The lady seemed to speak differently than Abigail. Her hair was blond and wavy. She had a genuine smile that I liked instantly. "Hello, who is this Abigail?"
"Hi Ms. Latney. Her name is Kayley and she wants to transfer to this school. Her parents are in California and she's living at my house for awhile. Could you please help her set everything up?"
"Anything for you."
"Thank you." Abigail and I went through doors and, following Abigail's lead, I sat in the chair in front of a table. Ms. Latney sat across from us, opened a drawer, pulled out a pile of papers, and placed them in front of us.
''Now, I need you to I'll need you to fill these in.'' With Abigail's help, I managed to fill in enough information, but not give anything away. If I did, that would be totally wierd wouldn't it.
"We're done," Abigail called out when we were done. Ms. Latney looked over the papers carefully before opening a different drawer and placing them in an empty folder.
"Here's a schedule, a map of the school, and a lock. I tried to coordinate your schedule to match Abigail's, Mark's, and Robert's." For some reason when she said Mark's name, I felt butterflies fluttering in my stomach. What the hell is wrong with me??? Why is this happening??
While we were walking out, Abigail looked over her shoulders and said, "thanks for your help!" Abigail led me through many confusing paths lined with large rectangles. She stopped in front of one rectangle in particular that had the numbers, 825. "This is your locker where you put you're bag and books. Rob's locker is right across from you, mine is five over to the left, and Mark's is two from the right. All your classes are with ours so one of us will always be with you. Right now you have Spanish with me. You can come with me and I'll take you there."
And she did just that.
Lately I haven't felt motivated to write cuz no one reads so this'll be on hold I guess.
