John doesn't really care what your background is or what you're up to. If you need something fixed he's your guy. The only thing he needs in return is being left unharmed. And he will be really thankful for that.

He especially becomes almost numb to murderers after his brothers failed assassination attempt on him. He doesn't care what you do. Just leave him out. He feels guilty because he did led that older brother out and let him get killed by one of the machines. He won't care if you come bloody to him, just say you need something fixed. He isn't supposed to judge others. Especially since he let his brother die.
