Jefferson sat at his desk. It was dark. The only spark of light he had was the dim candle next to his paper. The was trickling down its bodywork the tears that silently trickled down Jefferson's cheek. He was signing a petition. It was for many things but, Jefferson was upset because he wanted to get rid of slavery. He knew it wouldn't make it so he had to erase it.
He just didn't have the heart to.
He wanted to so badly because his mother grew up one. He never got to meet her...but his father said she was a kind and beautiful woman.
He sniffles as his head was buried in the back of his left hand.
"D*mn it..." He whispered. He always promised himself that someday he would get rid of Slavery. But it seemed like the world wasn't ready for that.
It wasn't ready to have a new heart.
To turn a new leaf.
To open its eyes.
To care.
He heard the door open.
"Thomas I- Thomas..?" Madison froze as he saw his distressed friend at his desk. In tears. He shut the door and walked next to him. He put a hand on his back and rubbed it softly.
"I can't do it, James..." Jefferson whispered. Refusing to face him. Madison walked behind him and stroked his hair.
"I know..." he muttered. He kissed his cheek causing him to lean back in his chair, looking up at him. Madison just admired him. His face and eyes were red with tear stains down his cheeks. The only dim light coming from the candle. His beautiful brown shining eyes. He brushed his messy hair away from his face and leaned down to kiss him. It seemed like he didn't react at all. He was just frozen. He pulled away after a moment. He brushed the top of his hair and ran his fingers through it. After a moment that felt like forever, Jefferson stood up. He walked over to Madison, cupped his face in his hands and kissed him. It was sad but...needy? Madison wrapped his arms around his neck.
"Thomas..." He muttered.
"Please...I need you." Jefferson whispered as he moved to plant his lips to his neck. Madison let out a muffled groan. He decided to forget about everything.
His husband needed him and he would rather die before not being there for him.
He loved Jefferson.
And after that night, he was sure Jefferson loved him too.

FanficOkay, I got an idea for a short Jeffmads story and decided to put it in a separate book than my other one. I'm only going to post on this one whenever I get ideas and I might take requests but this is what I got for now.
