Hi Everyone! This is my first ever writing project. I've been on wattpad for so long always imagining what I would write and how I would write it but never getting the courage to do so.

But after many years, I've finally decided to. I've been always into romance and passion and this overwhelming love that's all over wattpad and this is basically what i wanted to write about, with a mix of violence, war and other shit to add some spice.

I REALLY hope you like it haha, please leave comments and let me know what you think. Ill update regularly :)

LOVE Lola xxx

-------------------------------------------------------------

I love seeing the road stretch out before me and the feeling of a long drive. It felt like an escape, even more so now because I don't really have a destination just a place to get away from. I quit my job and sold almost everything I own, aside from basically two suitcases of clothing and shoes, a box of books and various sentimental knickknacks and my car. I'm looking for somewhere new for a fresh start. I want to reinvent myself and so far, none of the places I have stopped have given me the right feeling of home. I don't mind though, the road is nice and the drive gives me a lot of time to reflect on how I got here and where I am going to go, philosophically I mean, not literally. I have no idea where I'm going. What I do I know however, is that I am starved and fatigued and even though I do like the drive I need to take a pit stop to rest or the destination I've been looking for will either be 6 feet under or the ugly vase my step-mother keeps under the sink.

I pull over on the side of an empty stretch of rural road to check maps on my phone. I don't see anything close by until I zoom right into my location and finally see, Grey. What a weird name for a small country town, but it's pretty close by and my best bet. I don't think I can drive for another 4 hours to the next set of towns which seem to be just as small. I drive for another half an hour and arrive to the Grey turnoff which leads straight into the forest. Terrifying, because this is exactly how the horror movie Wrong Turn starts but at the same time, its freaking gorgeous! I love pine trees and the way the suns rays seep through radiating the road and the cascade of fallen leaves as I drive along. It's times like this that make me feel good about leaving my old life behind, I can really start to appreciate the beautiful things life has to offer.

I reach the town centre and it's charmingly small. As I drive down main street I don't know where to stop so I keep driving past. I see a motel, cafe, mechanics and a couple of warehouses all on one side, I realise pretty quickly that it's just one large roundabout with a park right in the middle. So, I take the first parking space right out the front of the motel on my second way around. This seems like a fine place to take a pit stop, its small and there doesn't seem to be a lot to do here but it's a very pretty town and I have to admit, its giving me...a feeling. The street is lined the hanging planter flowers and the pathway in front of the stores and circling the park are made of red cobblestone. The houses that I saw making my way around the park were beautiful red brick or wooden slated Victorian styled homes. There's one house in particular I only a glimpse of that was absolutely massive and utterly gorgeous. It was a 2-story redbrick mansion with a beautiful sweeping front porch and what seemed like two medium sized houses connected on either side. I wish I could get a closer look but I think that might be weird. I should take a convenient walk right past it, maybe I'll need to stop and tie my shoe. Who knows, crazy things like that happen all the time.

I make my way into the motel that looks like it was intended to be more of a house.

"Hi love. Tsk, oh aren't you a pretty thing! What brings you to our tiny town?" asks the woman from behind the counter with a bright smile and warm eyes. She was an older woman, maybe 50's, very fit looking and very pretty. "Aw, thank you and good morning, or afternoon" I laugh as I correct myself giving her my speciality, 'oops look'; driving for 4 hours is very disorienting. "I'm just passing through, but I need a place to take a pit stop and rest for the night. I saw this place on my map but it was a bit hard to find. It really is a tiny town." I giggle joining in on her joke of the town. She gives me a small chuckle back nodding in agreement while reaching under the counter pulling out, what I am assuming is her reservation book. "You have no idea, love. So, one night, hmm? I'll set you up in our loveliest room. We don't get a lot of guests as you can imagine, so this is me and husbands' home but all our kids are grown now and we need to make use of the empty rooms. The room you'll be in is up the stairs, first door on the left, you'll be overlooking the park."
