"Sorry about that Jimin."
Jimin looked up at Yoongi as he struggled to tie the knot on his sweat pants. Once he finished, he tried to stand up but ultimately failed as Yoongi rushed over to help him up.
"It's ok Yoongi. It was my fault, I completely disregarded the fact that Seojoo would be home so soon. I don't know how we didn't hear her!" Yoongi nodded in agreement as he pulled his converse on, Jimin slipping on his adidas.
Yoongi helped Jimin limp over to the door and out of the house. To help with the journey, Jimin offered to let Yoongi ride the two of them home on his bike. As expected, Yoongi happily agreed to do so. Soon enough the two were slowly gliding down the sidewalks and in the street at times.
Jimin loosely wrapped his arms around Yoongi's waist, weakly gripping the fabric of his sweater. The elder blushed at the gesture, but he quickly became adjusted.
The two spent the entire time talking and laughing over the events of their crazy day. The whole scene reminded Jimin of what his childhood could've, should've been like. He basked in the innocence of it and took it all in while he could before returning to the depressing black hole he called home.
"And so I said, 'wanna say that a little louder, midget?! couldn't hear you from up here!'" Jimin laughed hysterically at Yoongi's story and the boy let out a few chuckles himself,
"And y'know what's even funnier? He was taller than me!"
The two continued cracking up over the dumb story as Yoongi pulled into the driveway of Jimin's house.
"Last stop! Everybody off." Jimin playfully hit Yoongi, causing the older to smile widely, his gummy smile on full display.
Yoongi pulled Jimin in close and the two embraced each other, ending it with a quick peck on the lips before Yoongi bid his farewell and rode down the street to his own house.
Jimin decided to stay in his backyard for a bit before going inside. He sat on the swing hanging from his tree, gently petting the stray cat who was a regular guest at the Park Residence Café. The cat nibbled on some tuna as Jimin serenaded them with a song that he hummed rather often.
"Baby I called in the dead of night... but you don't need it like I need you, praying I won't be alone."
He eventually reached the chorus and his voice became slightly louder,
"Pain that's an option, no time for nonsense, can't ask you nothing, drank feeling nauseous, too many toxins, not even conscious, say nothing more, say nothing more baby."
Suddenly the boy flinched as he heard the slide door to his backyard open and his mother yell out, "Come inside now son! There's someone here to meet you!"
Jimin sighed, he knew that could mean one of two things:
1. His mom had some new boyfriend
2. His mom was trying to get him a date with one of her weird coworkers
"Can I like... not do that? Frankly, I'd much rather stay out here."
Jimin's mom, clearly drunk, flipped him off before stumbling back inside and attempting to close the stiff sliding door.
Jimin looked down at the cat and began stroking it's head, causing it to purr in contentment.
"Yoongi. That's your name now, I've just decided..."
"Yoongi, you're my calico cat who I shall look after and protect from now on."
