He was in bed and reading a book when she got out of the bathroom. He was wearing a plain white shirt and a pair of cotton pants. He looked comfy and warm.
She, on the other hand, was fully clothed with a pair of silk pajamas her sister got her. She stopped in the middle of the room. She wrung her fingers, unsure what to do.
Her husband took notice of her and put down the damned book. He turned to look at her.
She stammered out a conversation. "I.. I didn't know y-you brought a book."
"I didn't. It was in the shelves in the study. I figured you'd relax more if I'm occupied with other things."
"I'm not nervous or anything."
"Could have fooled me."
She sighed.
After a moment of silence, Ren spoke. "C'mere, Gab."
She looked at him reluctantly. It took her a while before she complied. They sat together side by side on the edge of bed.
"I am now your husband, you know."
She laughed. "Yeah, I noticed."
"Honestly, I don't really know what that means. My parents weren't really married and my father hardly ever see us before my mother died."
She held his hand and squeezed it. "Your mother was a strong woman. And she loved you very much."
"How do you know?"
"She raised a man like you, that's how I know."
He smiled at her. "You're a real man-eater, aren't you?"
"Wha- I am not!" She tried to pull her hand away but he grabbed her instead. He pulled lifted her to her side of the bed and laid next to her. Before she could protest, he wrapped his arms around her into a tight embrace and tucked her head under his chin.
"Hey!"
He adjusted the light in the room with the remote control and turned back to embracing her. He kissed her hair. "It's been a long day, Gab. Good night."
"What?" She was incredulous. She tried to moved and look up at him but he wouldn't let her.
What? So no wedding night? She knew it. He made it sound like he was looking forward to it but when it came down to it, he just couldn't to it.
After a while, she could hear her husband's peaceful and even breathing. Well, he certainly didn't have a trouble sleeping. She sighed, resigned. It's their first night together, they'd have thousands more together. She shouldn't think too much.
She slid her arms around him and buried her face in his chest, taking in his wonderful smell. He smelled so clean and appealing to her. She sighed again. This time, dreamily. "But I want a wedding night too," she whispered.
As soon as she said that, the world seemed to turn upside down. The next thing she knew, she was flat on her back with her husband gazing down at her. "W-why are you-!"
"You can't take that back." His eyes were dead serious, they overwhelmed her.
She reached out and touched his handsome face. He looked vulnerable and desperate at the same time. How could she ever think he didn't care? Her heart swelled with happiness. She kissed him in reply.
He took it as a 'yes'.

He tried to be gentle but Gab would let him. She met his passion with a fever of her own. She burned him so completely he thought he'd become someone else. The need and pleasure overwhelmed him. She surrendered herself to him wholeheartedly and held nothing back. She bared herself to him and he couldn't deny her of anything in return. He poured all of him in every touch, in every kiss and every thrust.
For the first time, he made love.
