Y/n pov I was walking home since it wasn't too far and I look up from the sidewalk and see something in full yellow attire moving in front of me following 2 other boys "Shawn?" Shawn turns around hearing me saying his name "Who said- oh hi y/n" he said nervously "Hey y/n" minkus cuts in saying with a smile Ellis waves his free hand at me "What are you guys doing?" I ask Shawn looked like we was about to answer but was cut off by Stuart minkus "We're going to a water war. hence the water guns were holding. wanna join!" he says excitedly "If it's okay with Shawn... and Ellis" I say looking at Shawn then back to minkus "Yeah of course" Shawn says before any of them "I dont have my water gun on me right now but my house isn't too far from here if we're able to make a pit stop"
"Yeah let's go!" they wait for me to start walking with them ellis and minkus walk behind since there isn't enough room on the sidewalk for the 4 of us. leaving me and Shawn walking on our own.
there was an awkward silence between us for a good 30 seconds and then Shawn says "How are you liking Philadelphia so far" "it's nice definitely different from California. How long have you known cory" his face lights up at the mention of cory "since forever" he starts to tell me about how cory and him met and then he changes the conversation to his like and dislikes and it turned out we have a lot in common.

"This is it. I'll be right back" I quickly run into the house. throw my stuff in my room and grab my water gun I run back outside and see Shawn looking amazed at how big the house is "this is your house" "yeah...my mom said once we move here we would get a bigger house but it's a lot of room for 2 people" "Where's your mom?" he asks curious "She's at work. I think she's working late tonight... anyways let go"
At cory's house (backyard) Cory started to explain to us why he can't come to paint a fence and how he feels wants us to do his work. After a-lot of painting "Where's your bathroom cory" "I'll show you!" A little blonde girl says excitedly and she grabs my hand bringing me inside and points to where it's at.
After the bathroom As soon as I walk out of the bathroom a feel something latch to my leg "Hello" Morgan says smiling up at me "Hi. you want a piggy back ride" she smiles big and jumps on my back and we both walk back outside to find Cory alone painting the fence "Where did everyone go" I ask bringing Morgan down and cory says "They left. They left and took the 7 bucks" I see how upset he was and so I pick up the paint brush and started to help "Aren't you going to go with them" I smile at him lightly and say sarcastically "As much fun at that sounds it definitely doesn't beat painting a fence" he smiles back and we both start painting. we started to have conversations about funny stories between me & my old friends and Shawn & him and I realized how close it brought us "So... Do you like Shawn" I look at him as if I got caught "WHAT no definitely positively..." I quickly stop and go back to painting and Cory says "Shawn's a good guy. If you do or don't just know I could tell he likes you" I look at him and say changing the conversation to hide my happiness "Looks like we're done with the fence" I grab my gun and His gun-handing it to him "Let's go"
